WHO here feels that 200 mg Protein/day is sufficient?

Depends on your weight to begin with. I'm a small guy (for now), 180lbs at 5'8, and I don't get in less that 250 grams a day, that's a minimum. Usually 300-350 is more like it. 50 grams every 3 hours, except for PW when I get in 50 grams immediately after my workout and 50 grams 1 1/2 hours later. I also pound down a protein shake in the middle of the night when I get up to piss.

HOWEVER: I will tell you secrets for making monster shit (okay, not huge secrets, but anyway): Throw oatmeal right in the blender with your shake. Throw milled flax seed in with your shake or whole flax seed taking care to puree it. (Flax seed is available dirt cheap at most health food stores. I got big ass bag awhile back for a few bucks. I got 16 ounces of more expensive, brand name milled flax seed for 8 bucks. Flax seed has a tremendous propensity for absorbing liquid plus contains plenty of insoluble fiber as well.)

Other ways to crap more that are probably a lot less harmful than laxatives: lots of creatine and/or megadoses of vitamin C (upwards of 5 grams a day).

If any of those ways don't work and you're getting plenty of water, I'd say you might seriously have a problem even if you're taking in a lot of protein powder.
 
Constipated on a high protein diet? even without consuming a lot of fiber as I do now, my ass was like a flame-thrower.
 
It all depend on your age.Somedays I don't even have 200 grams of protien and my body is just fine.Although when I am cycling I probably have 200. I'm 54 and when my body say that it ,that's it.
 
I think it really depends on how much mass you carry, the more you have, the more protein you will need to grow and maintain. At the point I am at, I have trouble maintaining at anything less than 1.5 grams per lb of bodyweight, and to grow I need 2 grams
 
Well first not all protein is the same, its amazing how many people eat one real meal a day and the rest is all shakes, you will never gain real mass doing that.

Start eating real chicken, steak, eggs, fish etc.

I maintain on about 200g/day, to grow I kick it up to about 250. When dieting, I up it to 300. I can manage to maintain on that lower amount b/c I'm only around 180lbs at 5'5"... well above my genetic max but not that heavy overall. When I'm over 200lbs though, or on juice, it simply requires more protein. Usually I have to go every day, if not twice a day when bulking. I agree with the others about the veggies, I have to stay away from those sometimes b/c otherwise I'd be hitting the john 4x a day and i don't have time for that shit :)
 
I am not sure about 200 g , but I have yet to use more than 250 g , and I have always growed pretty well ...but my metabolism is damn slow , that is why I don't need too much food to grow , everything I eat my body absorbs due to my slow metabolism ....some people have crazy fast metabolism and they have to EAT a LOT like 400 g protein per day to grow because their body burns whatever they eat ...
