On Thursday, Campfield told 10 News that his request to join the Black Caucus was made because he wanted to obtain a copy of the Caucus by-laws to better represent minority constituents, which he says make up 30-40% of his Knoxville legislative district.

Maybe they excluded him because it was obviously just done for publicity, which he has now gotten and therefore doesn't need to join anyway.

So, him trying to be a better statesman is frowned upon?

Even if the reason was different, it doesnt change the fact that he was denied only because he's white. Which, believe it or not, is racist.

NAACP is one of the most racist organizations around. An asian man can't even get a high profile position in that organization. The top brass are all full-on black. A circle fully closed to anyone who's anything less than that.

True. Its a shame that an orginzation with so many followers (albeit, blind followers) are using their power to promote ignorance and racism in itself.

He didnt publicize his trying to get in.

He only publicized the fact that he didnt, which he was right to do. He is fighting against an unwritten rule of law, and public support is necessary for what is right to be obtained.
