Oh yeah...

The resident know-it-all done-everything guy stopped by my cube to ask me how my vacation was. Surfing came up and of course he had a lot to say.

Mr Know-it-all "People don't surf in Florida, they don't have any waves."
Me "Bullshit. It has great surfing and I was out in 3-6 foot waves"
Mr Know-it-all "Well I was talking about real waves. I was in Hawaii once surfing some 15 foot stuff..."
(I'd like to point out at this time that this is a beer gut Colorado native)
"... and I was looking down at the tube going 'Holy Shit'"
Me "Uh huh" (sceptical tone just wanting him to go away)
Mr Know-it-all "Actually I was bodyboarding. I was geting rolled over in the tube and going all over the wave. I wiped out once really hard and decided that was enough"
Me "Excuse me while I take off my watch, the shit is getting pretty deep in here"


Okay, so I didn't say that last part. I didn't say anything because I knew challenging him would only prolong the conversation. This is a 40 year old man that lies like a 10 year old.

I am sure the closest he has come to surfing in Hawaii is by watching Greg off the Brady Bunch Vacation rerun.
