I usually take mine after, but I have also had some good results using a technique from Charles Poliquin's book. He suggests you mix up some creatine (around 5 grams I think it was) and put it with a carb source and sip on it as you workout as well. I haven't been using the creatine lately, but I definitely am using a couple cups of Gatorade and weaken it down with water during my workout to replenish carbs. My gym is hotter than hell in the summer.
