When do you start your diet for a competition

absolutley...whatever works...just seems so light on cals for bulking, but maybe youir portions are large???

true i would love to eat more... i can eat all day everyday with an hour in between meals if i wanted to... just the time constraints suck.. but il try and eat more.. like now..

hey bro....wasnt busting your balls....just wanted to see what you take in, because im having hard time putting on lean mass and i'm about your height.........do you measure your portions? Do you eat more on the weekends? How much do you train? Cardio?

I do not measure my portions. I try and get at least 40 grams of prtoein ever meal with some carbs and little fat. I think I actually eat less on the weekends.. Its not that good. I just try and eat whenever i can. I train monday- thursday, and satruday.. I dont do any cardio for now

And for everyone else, if you have any responses to my questions about when to diet, please put down your info, thanks

Sweed

SOUNDS GOOD.........I train more often 5-6x week and still do a little light cardio...guess I need more cals, or to cut back on training......

clean bulk should be what I will do,maybe I will be able to take a few weeks off,Ive even decided to extend this cutting cycle so I wont have to cut aslong later

Theoak is right, you need 16-20 weeks.

On a very serious note, I've noticed alot of guys on EF lately talking about going in as a heavyweight but are obviously to small. If you are 232 at 14% you need to be looking at weighing 180-185 at contest time if you want to be 4% and DRY. Use needsize a an example. He was what baout 235 at 13% or so 16 weeks out and came in ripped at 180 without and noticable loss in lbm. You have to take into account not just the fat lbs lost, but also the water weight you must drop in order to be shreaded. This becomes even more dramatic if you are looking at your bodyweight at the end of a high dose test cycle where you are hold a few extra lbs of water. Trust me on this, I've bulked up to 230+ and then ripped down for a contest to find that I was only a middleweight when dry.

ya im looking to start my diet around 240, i still got 3 months, so i can gain at least 10 lbs till then.. but I would like to get at 4% bf dry. I might consider starting my diet out more than 16 weeks just because I'm new to this. Maybe 18 weeks jsut to be sure im in tip top shape. im not on any cycle yet, so i dont have to worry about the test thing. But i have loooked into a few supps (like YES and T-rex) to help me lose the weight.
Thanks for the reply and tips!
