When do you start your diet for a competition

I Just found out when my First competition is going to be... Sept 25th! I just wanted to know when you guys/ girls start you diet and how many weeks out it is from your comp. I am thinking about doing 16 weeks, this is my first one and I wanna be is very good condition.

I would think it depends upon:
1)the weight class you would like to enter
2)your current stats

Right now im 6'2'' and 230 -232 lbs. my body fat% is an estimated around 12- 14%. I want to get down to about 4% bf. I still have till June 5th to bulk, I want to get up to at least 240. I think I'll be competing in the heavyweight division...Does any one else have any more info on their own experiences.. Thanks for the reply Juve

12-14% you should be fine with a 16week prep

since I havent competed before but have research alot, I am taking 20 weeks or so to make sure Im dialed in right, cant hurt I suppose
 
not there yet bro so I am not certain what it will be,but im cutting now,was over 15%,but I wont start dieting for the show until july,I figure if I cut until the end of this month I should be about 13-14%,then bulk again,maybe get up to 15% again if not careful,then diet in july running lower dose test to hold muscle

20 weeks should be good,I want to take it slow and hold as much muscle as possible
 
Maybe try and bulk clean to keep fat % the same and put sum more mass on? Im jsut gonna bulk til June and try and put on another 10 lbs or so. Then it diet time.. this is gonna be fun (ya right)
 
-6 eggs- 3 white- 3 w/ yolks englsih mufin with jelly
-shake
-some leftovers - steak/ chicken with rice - or whatever is around running around with classes.
-if i can get another meal in an hour before workout then i do, if not a shake
- shake with workout
-shake post workout
-chicken/ steak with rice or potatoes
shake before bed

Some times i eat more or less depending on classes and such
