When do you lose gains if you stop training?

I was sorry to hear that when I first read it and am still feeling badly for you Stiffler. I hope you make a speedy recovery dude. It sounds like the moral of the story is if you stop working out completely you'll lose your muscle no matter what (usually) but if you start back up then your previous gains and strenght come back very quickly. I can at least vouch for gains coming back fairly quickly as I dropped to 120lbs. (from about 190lbs.) due to illness and got back up to 170 lbs. in about a year (no gear).

thats kind of how I always thought about it. like young muscle that needs to be worked hard to become perminent and solid. and also needs to me done naturally...just my .02 sound wierd I know

Nathan, what did you say, i didn't catch it bro.

M56M........what kind of injury do you have to your shoulders?

Don't really know, all i know is that when i finish flat bench i look like a little bitch holding my shoulders. All my friends tell me to stop but i have come this far and i don't want to loose what i have. But at this point its so bad i don't want to permently hurt myself. It sucks when something like that keeps you out of the gym, if you stop going becuase of your own stupidity then its "your fault" but when its an injury it hurts even more!!!

That really sucks Stiffler, get back in it bro, just train hard and don't get discouraged!! Good Luck!!

Its alright bro. I was reading all up and down the thread like what the hell is he talking about.

BTW, what do you think about that concept? Giving the muscle time to become more solid. I think thats why bridging is not to great, you never give your muscle time to recupe. Is the idea far fetched?

(BTW, i am bridging with Anavar next cycle so i am an ass, if i am right.)

I did my first cycle last summer, Winny 50mg EOD for 8 weeks. Im not sure if it was due to the Winny, the fact that i grew so fast, the fact that i got so strong, or just bad luck, but i dislocated my shoulder the day of my last shot.

I couldn't lift heavy for 2 months. I lost alot of size during the first month, but when i was able to bench again, i put up my the same max bench as i did during my cycle. (2 months later and after a dislocated shoulder)

I only lost about 8 pounds during those 2 months, but i got alot softer and lost a little size. (shirt sleeves that used to be tight weren't anymore)

You talking to me? I just want to be sure this time on account of my overwhelming ass-like qualities. In any case, I'll be happy to provide my opinions. I think your hypothesis makes sense. I think also that it depends on where you are relative to your natural potential. For instance, say you juice when you're pretty far from your natural peak and you still don't get there when your cycle is done. You keep training and I've read of guys who make further strength and mass gains without more juice but then it slows. I'd say that why those people have is as permanent as its gonna get. However, say you make it to your natural potential (any way you like), then juice and go beyond but stop using gear and keep working out. I'd say you might slowly lose your gains until you get back to your natural peak. Bear in mind I have no experience with that but that's how I think it should go. Any more opinions?
