Whats the deal w/ you guys and oatmeal?

I looked on the back of a box we had in the house, now its instant oatmeal, so I assume thats like comparing a fastfood hamburger to some lean hamburger meat. 170cals it read, don't remember other shit but I'm pretty sure was loaded w/ sugar.

So if I can remember from when I last was in the cereal isle of a grocery store looking for something new. Oatmeal had like 80cals a serving right?

So whats so special about it?
is it because its 80cals and filling for that small amount (you would abviously exceed serving size though) also a complex carb thats good for the morning? anything else? Just curious. The above are pretty good reasons alone, just would like to know all the reasons thnx.

Oatmeal is THE perfect source of carbs:
-Complex carbs > Low GI (glycemic index, it keeps a steady blood sugar level)
-High in fiber
-Filling
-Tastes good with a few additions (strawberries, whey, cinnamon etc.)
-Easy to prepare
Go for the natural kind, not the instant process one; they're loaded with sugar and stuff. Take one that only has oats as ingredients.
