That really sux guy. I just heard of that case a few months ago where the kid got life for having pot, the DAs totally screwed him to make an example out of him. Hope they dont play that kind of hardball with you.

Yeah, Ive talked to people that said the big house was far better than county is, "aint shit to do in county" Im not sure what exactly they meant but I got the point. In the pen you have better commisary, better and more food, classes and education. I spose its all different though from state to state. I wouldnt want to do noooo time in the South like Alabama or something. At Huntsville prison in Bama youd be out working on the chain gang, if youre lucky youd be in the fields tending crops to feed the prison. Some serious convicts there.

Prison is what you make I heard. If you go being ass then you'll get run over hard. If you do your own time and stay out of people's bidnezz then youre much less likely to have a problem from what Ive heard.

my father got 8 years in federal prison for drug trafficking- all pot.
it was international, and HUGE amounts.
he tried saying he had nothing to do with it, but the underground solar greenhouse on his property in california that was used as a holding tank gave it away.
he got out in 4 years because hurricane andrew blew the prison away- the one in homestead florida. the place he was in was all white collar criminals. he roomed with manuel noriega, which i said in another post. he had friends who were in for bank fraud, insider trading, embezzlement.
He said it was horrible, but i'll be honest with you- my father was in his 50s when he went in and used to a life where he brought in TONS of money and did no work. He lived on a ranch in the hills and spent his day tanning, smoking pot, and picking up the women that were always around. he drove mercedes, had exotic animals (mountain lions) and sculpted in his studio every day.
To him, being behind walls was horrible enough.
while he was in, he got his paralegal degree by spending most of the day in the library. He said the other inmates were quiet and respectful- they weren't hardcore criminals.
After the hurricane came, they had to consolodate prisons and they put him and most of the other inmates he was with into a maximum security place with murderers and stuff. These weren't people he would have talked to outside of prison and now he lived with them.
within 2 months, they let him go on an early release. He was wierd for the next year but got over it.

I've always heard prison is better than jail - foodwise, respect from the guards etc. In Jail you're the bitch, and you meet some weird people.

3 years is a long stretch for drugs. But our country is fucked when it comes to our drug policies.

I have never been. from what I hear from friends who have though is fuck up some baby raper or other person who actually deserves to be there and you may be left alone.

Its not that bad. just keep your mouth shut and dont bother nobody. and whatever you do DONT look at someone unless their talking to you. and NEVER look in another mans cell. dont reach over someones food. dont get all buddy buddy with people cause you never know who your talking to. Its still sucks really bad because you dont have all the luxeries that you do on the street but youll get used to it. when you get there ask some of the guys what the rules are. some prisons have diferent rules. and dont take shit from no one. if anyone starts with you SMASH 'EM. dont let no one disrespect you. you go in there with your man hood and you want to leave with it.
