Whats jail really like?

i would of given you more than 3 years

Wtf does that mean? You would have given him more than 3 years. Why? For possessing an illegal substance? You're on a steroid forum for crying out loud. The guy is going to jail at age 19 and you say some stupid ass bullshit comment like that.

Anyways, I'm from MO and if I were to get caught witht hat weight. With a clean record, you could possibly just get MAJOR probation and TONS of paper work.

Honestly dude,

If you are looking at 3 years you did not do bad. OC 80's will bury you in some states. I heard of some guys doing 2 years for like 8 pills dude! And meth...whew! The feds through away the key when they catch you with that stuff. Pot is a joke though. Feds don't give much time for that. It is the OCs and meth that killed you. When you get out, do yourself a favor and don't f%$k around with that stuff anymore. I have seen the best of dudes completely go to shit from Oxys, and meth just makes you a skinny braindead HIV looking person in a matter of months. Stick to doing juice and you will never do another crappy drug again, because you'll get into your training so much. That what these lawmakers don't understand about steroids, they keep you away from drinking and other crappy drugs.

As far as jail goes. My friend just got out and he only did a nothing white-collar crime. He did 18months in a fed camp. The think that sucks - are you ready for this- THE FED JAIL HAVE NO MORE WEIGHTS! Do you believe it? There is only a few left with weights and when their weights break they won't replace them. Also there is no education anymore in Fed jails other than GED programs (Gee, that will prepare you for the corporate world when you get out). There is basically nothing to do either. The bottom line is this goverment sets you up to be a repeat offender once you get caught once in the system, by destroying your life afterwards with many years probation, a felony record that sticks to you like the Scarlet Letter for life, and offering no more education in prison so you have a fighting chance to make it when you get out. There are also no grants available to federal felons for college to my knowledge for when you get out of prison. So if you have no money or no family with money you are basically screwed and forced to do illegal things again even if your intentions are purely good - like needing to make money so you can go back to school so you can get a decent job other than flipping hamburgers. Also, many companies can and do perform background checks now, since our right to privacy is completely shot to hell in this country now since 911. Even if your crime has no bearing on the type of job you are applying for, the vast majority of the time they will not hire you. I don't understand why this government can't make some laws in order to prevent discrimination against felons, since they have anti-discrimination laws for every other type of person in this country.

Good luck dude, and take one word of advice - stay tough and don't ever rat. Not even a little bit. Remember what comes around goes around.

Thats the truth. :(

The recidivism rate is rediculously high because of just that.

I got popped once a year ago and when I got out, I had to sell three times as much in order to pay all my bills and fines and barely get by.

Dont get me wrong. You CAN change your life and let this be a one time mistake. Just get ready mentally to kiss your previous lifestyle, credit, and reputation goodbye.

On the bright side it really demonstrates your true character and shows you who your real friends are.

Keep your head up and remember who you are. Most of the greatest men in history were at one time attacked and persecuted by general population. Their ability to stand for their beliefts despite persecution is what made them great.

I have never worked a private industry job where they've done a background check on me. I'd fashion the % of employers that do background checks on you to be very very minimal.

Most only do a drug check if that. I've known of none that actually do rap sheet checks. I don't even know any that do credit checks!

What??? In Florida there are web sites to check out arrest records, it's public information. It costs employers nothing and you get immediate feedback. EVERY company here does it.

The worst part is that it is Arrest, not Conviction information. So you may have been found "Not Guilty" or had adjudication withheld and it still looks like you're Charlie Manson.

You also get no details. Walking across an enclosed porch to knock on a front door is considered "Burglary of an occupied dwelling": (Home Invasion).

Good Luck with your case

That's true in every state. You can search by county. The good thing is if you were young and a trouble maker and then move your employer would have no idea which county you had an arrest record in.

a friend did a stint in the crow bar hotel, and he said it is not fun, lots of fights and shit, and just being caged up like an animal really got to him.shitty you may have to go there bro, hopefully you got a good lawyer:)

I didn't read all the post but.....Offer the court the chance to go into the military instead of a criminal record. At 19 they might consider it. Had a friend that outran some cops one night....he actually passed one on a curve that was trying to get to a roadblock set up to stop my friend. Took the dog to take him down. He was 17 at the time and did a couple of years in the navy.

Came out, got his life squared; then died in a carwreck. But he never was a convicted felon.

You may find this funny -- but there is no NATIONAL DATABASE of arrest records.

All the private companies have to buy databases from states, counties, agencies, etc. and put them together.

Only the FBI has fingerprint information on everyone who has ever been arrested in this country. And that's only available to law enforcement agencies.

So crimainl record checks are pretty inadequate in the private industry. The best you can do is check for active warrants.
