What would you be eating like if you were 60lbs more than you wanted to be?

So I'm pretty overweight.

Forget "cutting" for sparing muscle, I don't have enough to justify it.

I eat oats, green vegetables, lean meats, nuts, fruits and drink plenty of water - a gallon a day.
I take multi vitamins and fish oil.

I heard possibly a LOW protein diet might work, the thinking being that your body is in an "alkali" environment.

I'm currently taking an ECA stack. (E- 25mg, C- 200mg, A-100mg) Twice a day.

How else am I going to get the results I deserve?

My shins are aching from running, I'm too heavy for my legs, I've quit running on a treadmill, once my shins are fully repaired I'm going to start running outside everyday/EOD if that's what it takes.

Absolutely loving doing Mark Rippetoe's starting strength. I know the squats are going to help me with my cardio. The deadlifts make me feel great.

I'm seeing the results in the mirror but not on the scales.
I guess at 6ft 260lbs I'm feeling a little de-motivated.

Help.

Be patient and track every calorie you put in your mouth. Drop the grain and dairy from your diet. If you are really serious about losing weight you need to set a caloric deficit in your diet. Low protein isn't a good route. Protein and fats keep you the most satisfied. Set how many grams of protein you need to consume (typically 1g/lb of bod weight) then add in good fats and get carbs from mostly veggies and some fruit. Look up the paleo diet.

I've dropped 45lbs of fat and added muscle since January, bro. You just gotta have a plan and stick to it. There is a lot of good info on this forum about diet and exercise. Do some research and outline a PRECISE diet and exercise plan for yourself, then post it up here for reviews.

Best of luck

Also want to ad that if you want to burn fat research HIIT for cardio. Treadmills have more give (cushion) then concrete does so if the treadmill is killing ya hop on the elliptical or stationary bike until you drop some pounds. You can also put the treadmill on an incline as steep as it goes and power walk.
