what to do when you hit a plateau?

i haven't hit one yet. so far so good, 5.5 inches off the waist & 34 lbs lighter in 3 months. However fear of hitting a plateau is always hovering in my mind and i'm worried about what i'll do.

im not doing low carb, i dont like low carb. i'm doing low fat, about 20/25/55 p/f/c, about 2800 calories a day. Also doing about 40-50 minutes of cardio 4-5 times a week. plus lifting about 3x a week.

What do i do if i hit one? cut calories? increase calories? increase cardio? take a week off of dieting? my diet is pretty lax as it is, im not really eating clean so i dont know if that will work.

This is all for future reference, so far so good. but i'd rather be prepared when my body starts fearing for its survival.

hit weight loss plateau? its prob a diet issue....as for training i think you will eventually hit one because your cutting.

I've heard that varying the intensity of your cardio is a great way to get through a weight loss plateau, too. When the time comes do some sort of interval training that incorporates sprints or some other balls to the walls activity. Boxing or something like that. You could go for a run on a street with light poles and jog to the first one, sprint to the next one, jog to the next one and so on. Stuff like that.

IMO, your protein intake is LOWWWWW

it is somewhat low. its about 150 grams a day. i should probably up it to 210 or so, that'd be closer to 30%.

If you allready started out doing 4/5 x 40 mins cardio a week you'll be at your plateau way faster then you want to be cause your body will adept to it. Better to start out with like -300 below maintenance, hit a plateau after a week or 2 and drop another -300, hit a plateau and add some cardio (once/twice a week) etc

Btw, I'd start HIIT instead of those boring 40/50 mins jogging session, burn more fat and less muscle. :)
