I plan on doing cardio at 6am every morning to start my day. i'm going to do cardio on an empty stomach but i'm wondering what i should be eating after the cardio...should i load up on proteins or carbs or something else?
After am cardio, I wait a half hour then have about a cup and a half of lowfat cottage cheese and unsweetened pineapple, and a little equal in there too.
i'm trying to lower my bodyfat which is why i'm going to be doing cardio 2x a day...30mins in the am , and then i go back at night, do an hour to an hour and a half of weight training and another 45mins of cardio...my bf% is like 17% so dont get the idea that i'm a fatty...just want to get shredded basically.
supergirl,i suggest still having some carbs after your cardio even while lowering bodyfat..and especialy since you are doing cardio twice a day along with weights.i would have my normal protein shake and glutamine.
Personally, after cardio I like to eat some carbs and protein. For me, it's something like a cup of oatmeal and some whey protein. This is why, after cardio the metabolism is elevated, and food has a thermic effect. Meaning when you eat a meal, your body has to work to utilize those calories, elevating your metabolism even more.

I think alot of people are scared of carbs and don't know how to use them. People don't realize that in you don't ingest some carbs and protein after any exercise the body will become catabolic.
