What shoes does everybody wear?

I've always been a shox fan. They just fit me. But as my squatting/deads weight has increased I can feel the soles squishing. Other than chucks and barefoot.. What do you guys wear? I like barefoot but its kinda frowned on in my 24hr gym.
Thanks

I only squat and dl in chucks. Wrestling shoes work well also. I have seen people using those high priced powerlifting shoes but I'm not paying $150 for lifting shoes. Chucks are $40 and they last long and work great.

Use code joeb15 for 15% of at Ntbm.

Use code TEAM1001 at ruthless supps for a $50 off discount on transaderm and phytoserms.

Vans or converse hi-tops

Converse for squats and deadlifts. I've seen guys with PL shoes as well, but wayyy too expensive for my taste.

I wear tall untied army boots and tight cut off jean shorts.

Not really.

But I did squat for a while with hiking boots. If you like to squat with plates or a wedge under your heels, then a boot with a good heel is stable and gives you a good angle for your foot.

But I'm not going that heavy any more, and my shoe selection doesn't really seem to matter. I'm currently using Jordan high tops.

Is this what you mean when you say you wear hiking boots?
