what multivitamin is everyone using?

newgirl said:
I have not taken a multi -- just my supps B6, Vita E, B12, L Tyrosine......even that seems like too much to me already!

I always heard that if you take nothing else...take your multi-vitamin. That is your base to start from...

oh, I take the apex multi as well. I just went to Trader Joe's recently and picked up some vit C and antioxidants...I hear TJ's vitamins are pretty good--anyone to confirm?

As far as liquid vitamins go, one of my co-workers takes her liquid vitamins everyday. She stores them in the fridge at work, so that may be an issue if you're an on-the-go type of person.

the reason i ask is my mom seems to think the womens ones are better and im not sure they are.

womens' multi are not good for guys because as a guy you don't need extra iron

BTW Life extension, Twinlab and Solgar have good multis ..... though quite expensive

All the people I know including myself, my mom, GF.... take the local generica brand. Cheaper and the same as big name formulas...

Don't take any!

I'm not concerned about iron or calcium b/c I know I get enough with what I eat (milk, some yogurt & cheese, red meat, broccoli, etc.)

Vitamins make me sick to my stomach! :( even when I DO eat them with food. Besides, I know some vitamins can be toxic when taken in super high doses (well, I know super-hi doses of iron & calcium can be bad, not sure about others). Additionally, isn't it true that, although vitamin C helps the immune system & preventing colds, 4X the daily dose of vitamin C does NOT give you 4x the benefit!!!! That RDA is generally sufficient & you just can't absorb & utilize those super high doses.

Most daily vitamin pills I look at have 500-800% Daily value of almost everything!

You guys crack me up....SPATTS LEFT HER COMPUTER!!!

I take a multi vitamin AM and PM, and a multi mineral mid day...both liquid.

Really? I was under the impression that the RDA was based on flawed studies that were done in the 1950's.
