what line of work are you in?

Just curious since I see many of you have enough time for training and getting your meals in and all. I'm studying to become an engineer but I'm concerned that once I start working as an engineer I won't have enough time to eat and stuff.

How do guys manage?

nano, if it's important to you, you will MAKE time. Cook up everything one day a week, and get tons of storage containers, and a big cooler. You can do it, if you want to.

Cook up a big pot of rice, pressure cook a roast and a bunch of chicken breasts, steam a bunch of veggies or eat them raw, etc. If you have a microwave at work, throw a tater in your bag, cooks in a few mins.

I train strongman on Friday evenings. 6-8:30PM.

I'm being trained by Tod Becraft and Julie Havelka. Julie is on the road to WSW (World's Strongest Woman). She's already gotten several strongwoman victories under her belt; previous to that, it was power lifting, where she was successful, too.

She's also an engineer. As you can see, she's found the time since she wants to succeed.

Both my bf and I are in the middle of gaining LBM, in other words: we have to eat ALOT more. Both of us. And that means, despite busy schedules, we set aside time to cook and prepare our meals. You'll see us in the "bulk foods" section of the grocery store (as well as the "Meats" section, hehehe).

Just as spatts' said, if you want to, you can or will do it. And we want to. :)

I'm thinking back on college (ugh) and my career, and I'm thinking it was ALOT (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) harder to manage food and training in college than in the real world. It was much easier once I had a job.

Good advice. Cook everything in advance. And, I carry small containers of protein powder to mix with water when I'm too busy to actually eat a meal.

I am a Test Engineer for a computer MB manufacturer.

Spatts has it dead on. I do all my cooking for the week on Sunday night, and have just basic preparations each morning.

I train Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri in the mornings. My son either takes a nap or joins me in the garage.

I also find time to totally forget training and spend quality time with my family.

If you want it, you can find and/or make the time for training and the rest of your life.
