I started cardio a couple weeks ago in order to start cutting (along with getting my diet in order) and I started out jogging around the block for a mile. It kinda hurt my knees so I figured I'd try one of those elliptical machines at the gym or a treadmill. Last week I tried an elliptical, and it was damn hard... of course, I didn't really know how to set up the freakin thing and I found out that the resistance was set high, but even after I figured out how to lower the resistance, I noticed my heart rate was way too high (out of my target zone). I tried out a treadmill and walking pretty fast I can get within my target zone.
Now, I've been reading threads where people go for 45 minutes. I can barely do 30 now. So...I want to know when you guys are doing cardio to burn fat, are ya running, or walking, and for how long? I mean, I guess all that matters is that I get within my target heart rate but, I'd like to compare my overall "fitness" with the rest of you guys. I feel like a wuss walking on a treadmill
