Greatest best friend a man ever had. With that being said, I am going to try a golden doodle. I want the no shed poodle hair on my golden.

Another vote for a shelter dog, here. Also, keep in mind the intellectual and exercise needs as well. For example, don't get a herder or working dog breed if you aren't committed to regular obedience training and lots of play time.
