I can never get my grocery bill down below 175 a week no matter how much generic shit I buy. How much do all of you range......I've got to find a way to reduce....

After getting fired from my job, I ran home to mommy and daddy. My grocery bill is zero.

Prior to getting fired, my grocery bill was about $100/week. That was in San Francisco. It probably would have been more had I not gone out to eat 3 to 4 times a week.

Have you tried something like Sams or Costco? I buy everything in bulk. It saves money in the long run.

I go to a large international farmers market here in Atlanta for chicken, steak, etc, and vegetables. But, its always the meat that runs my food bill through the fucking roof......Steak is pretty expensive unless you get shit like round steak, and fish is also expensive. So, with all the meat, I can't keep it down....Maybe I should just eat more chicken which tends to be less expensive but bland after a while....

We have Walmart Supercenter. I save a butt-load on my groceries. :)

I spend about $60 to $80 a week on me. I buy mostly salad stuff and Lean Cuisine. :)

And when you include protein bars and shakes-----(not even including gear or creatine)---the amount of money I spend is amazing..........I have no money left for savings........

Unfortunately they don't have a Wal-Mart supercenter inside Atlanta, only in the suburbs, maybe it might be worth the trip...do they sell meat, produce also....

They sell everything, baby!!!! It is a Walmart with a grocery store.

Even the name brand stuff is cheaper. :)

The produce is pretty good too. :)

Yes, they sell meat and produce.

What kind of steaks are you eating? I love steak. Eat it every night of the week for dinner.

I eat sirloin or ribeye.......which steak do you recommend for the price and that is lean......

I also eat ribeye steak. I shop at Costco and can get about 6 10oz ribeyes for approx. $45.00. Thats like $7.50 a steak which isnt bad at all.

To all those who struggle with the high prices of conventional meat, I suggest trying roadkill.

It's free, packed with protein, and when you need another meal, just grab your shovel and head up the road.

Do you at least use hotsauce?

I just ate dinner, dammit! Shadup!!!!! :p

I ate chinese too, that was probably dog or cat meat. It was all tender. :)

My bill with eating out ranges around 125-150 for four people a week.

I frequent the lovley chow hall the Marine Corps offers me, so mine tends to be low too, $150 a week and that is mostly flank steak and chicken..plus I shop on base at the commisary and we dont pay tax:)

Damn, I live in the Uk and my grocery bill is on
average ÂŁ200/week($275).

Thats just food too. No gear/supps/protein shakes etc...

SliceofPeach2, $60-80/week???????

Damn, are you anorexic? :) j/k

Thats $10/day. How do you do it?

Godspeed

Well shit, I live on tuna, eggs, chicken dogs, and red meat. I only spend about $50 a week on food. Add in razors, detergent, etc. and the bill gets a little higher.

I buy salad mix, other veggies for salad, Lean Cuisine for lunches, dried fruit, bananas (addicted). I only eat chicken and soybean "meat". I thought $80 was high for one person. :(

Our bill for two runs about 100 a week including my protien powders / bars etc...

Check out the Protienfactory RyanH.

PS: I still think you're cute just givin ya hell for the anti gun comment =0

Okay, I went today and spent $97, but I bought two pairs of pantyhose. :( :p

RyanH, I eat a very strict diet, I don't over buy anything and only buy when I need it.

I use lots of protein powder, and eat moderate amounts of chicken and red meat, nothing fancy, and I use my safeway club card to get some pretty good discounts.

If I include everything, all foods, cat foods laundry, supplements it probably runs about $100-120(canadian dollars) a week.
Used to be higher cause I was buying my meat at the grocery store but in the past year I have been buying my meats at a meat packers in etobicoke(Toronto) open to the public and cut my meat bill by about 50%

I get things like boneless skinless chicken for $3.50/lbs average year round, extra lean ground for about $1.90/lbs. I know the grocery store have specials on all this kinda stuff if you look around but I get this year round and don't have to drive to 10 different grocery stores to save 10 bucks while spending 20 bucks on gas lol.

The only thing with the meat is I have to cut it up myself which isn't a problem because I have more control over portion size that way, just cut it, bag it in portions and freeze it

Ryan I don't know how good of a cook you are, but how many different ways can you prepare chicken???I can think think of a few ways I spice up all my meats so nothing ever is bland. A variety of spices, cooking wines, cooking oils, veggies(grilled, steamed, boiled) rice, pasta, there are so many combos Chicken should never be bland. Nothing should if you switch it up a bit
