what is the border situation these past 2 days

so i am wondering.. why have the us agents beefed up security at the border to mexico these past 2 days.. does anyone have any info on this.... is this about the columbian tunnel?? what is the deal?

just really curious.. i like to stay up to date lol

They have been reacting to muchos tips, warnings, and alerts. It has been off and on since 9-11... and I doubt it will ever be back to the old casual scene we used to have.

Siezures are up 960%... and many of the long time mules who haven't had any problems for 10 years are sitting in jail right now.

Tom Ridge was visiting EL Paso today, if he is visiting other border cities that could be the reason they tightened up the last few days.

i drove back on saturday, and they were searching every car. the searches were weak and not very thorough.

Just a thought, I have access to the company 60 foot post yacht. I wonder what kind of hassle it would be to sail down there, pick up goods and sail back. No border to cross.

I was serious in my reply. I've made multiple trips across the border recently. It is not any one thing or any one day. They have been revamping the system and hightening security for months. It is a very difficult time to predict that daily conditions. I've driven through twice without even having my ID checked... and I've sat and watched them search every car on other days.

If you are bringing back extra strength supplements... the situation is the same as always... hide it well and live with the risk.
