there's a video out there somewhere of him getting his ass handed to him by sean gannon. . .a great big old, baby-huey lookin' cop from boston (i think). . .he marked gannon up pretty good, but he totally got his ass whooped. . .was prior to his mma stuff. . .but it wasn't that long ago. . .

People talk shit about kimbo, but look what he's done in mma compared to all of you. Dana sure went out of his way to get someone he was never interested in. He's money like it or not. He's all cool now that he's in the ufc. Fuck Dana. Never believe what a promoter says.

You forgot to mention Gannon was a former national golden golves champion. Gannon knew how to swing fist and was training mma. Not like he just got lucky and didn't know how to fight.

I know that. It's all about stacks of green prez. Thats why Dana hated him before. He was pulling in ratings for the other promotions. He secretly hid in the corner, giggling like a school girl with a heavy crush. He always wanted Kimbo.

Wes Sims is not the sharpest guy around and what does he have to get in a lawsuit....think about it. You cant get blood out of a stone. All the contract are meant to scare the fighter....all of those guys are broke.

Also if people don't think Kimbo isn't a big deal, just look how all the TUF previews are centered around him. Forget about former NFl players being on the show this season. Kimbo is the talk of the show.

Kimbo is a tough guy, but he is joke when it come to MMA. To old to ever get a decent ground game. He should have went into pro boxing.

He won't be a mma champion anytime soon. Boxing is even more harder to make it in. Boxing isn't something you can just jump into with 2 yrs of training like in MMA. You need to have time under your hands or it's goodnight.

Kimbo has been boxing for years, they could have made him a paper champion with ease, that was what gary shaw wanted to do with him before he got into MMA

It's was being considered. He still dosen't have what it takes to make it in boxing. He did some boxing but not at the level it takes and age to be at the top level. Stepping up to people that are the best throwing hands in the world, compared to bareknuckle fighters from the street, isnt the same. He'd get hurt bad. In boxing you need to have the right training and time put in. I know. I come from a family of boxers and I've boxed myself. I know how hard it is. There are far more safer sports and a better way to make a living then in boxing. You have it or you don't. That's the hard truth of boxing. It's something you have to do to understand.

Get out of here. LOL! I'm not saying he's going to be the next champ, but he's money. Not a accident he's in the UFC. That's why he's there. You ain't in any position to judge the dude. he might have improved. Don't hate on the guy just cause you don't like him. In the end, I just want to see entertaining fights. If Dana is wise, he'll match him up with other sluggers in the cage. People like dog fights. Other then that, I don't care...just give the fans good fights.

He definitely has some marketable appeal. Until he gets wrecked once or twice at least. I liked the kimbo fights on the internet. They were funny. But I just don't see him succeeding in ufc with his background. Too much ground domination and his stand-up simply cant be good enough to deal with the elite stand up fighters. Hes just outmatched. He may have improved which would be interesting, I'd like to watch brock stomp on his face then shit out a bud light. It would be amusing

I only see him fighting brock if he wins the show, which I don't think happens. Brock needs to worry about cro cop, cane, and carwin.
I'd like to see that happening as well. Dont forget, he kept saying he could smash anyone out there. But more seriously, I'd like to see him against Tyson. Make it PPV, i dont care, i'll pay...

I think it's a joke to consider Kimbo a serious contender in MMA, but at the same time I'll watch him fight because you know it's probably not going to the judges either way. Dana said a while back that the only way that Kimbo could be in the UFC was to make it through The Ultimate Figher show. He's not in the UFC yet, and if he doesn't do well on the show, I'm guessing he won't get a contract and he'll fade back into nowhere. He had already said he was giving up at MMA and going to try boxing before this happend, I'm guessing Dana approached him with an offer to do the show and changed his mind. It's a smart move, it'll bring ratings. People are really fired up about this season, more so than any other season, because Kimbo, the Rashad/Rampage coaching thing before their fight, the fact that there are like 4 former NFL players also in the comp, and that it's all heavyweights this season.
That show on is what got alot of people who didn't know about the UFC interested in the sport and familiar with the fighters and story lines, and in turn leads to them wanting to see the PPV events when they happen. So anything to make that show big and generate exra viewers is a good overall move for UFC, even if Kimbo takes a couple of beatings, gets no UFC contract, and we never see him on TV again.

Georges St-Pierre was guest at a local radio show today, they asked him about Kimbo. Basically he said, first you cant build a UFC champion or even a serious competitor in just a few years, those guys (like GSP) have been training for over a decade. Then he's old and things wont get any better. Finally he's just hype and lacks skill.
