Goofed on the preacher curl weight it wasn't supposed to be 60 lbs,it's 50lb. When I first started 4 months ago all these were half or less of those weights. Not trying to impress anyone, I feel like a light weight compared to the weights I'm seeing, especially w/ ladies who weigh much less than I do. So I thought I wasn't lifting much, since most of the raw materials I use come in 80 lb bags and I load them myself.
My husband is 6'.4" weighs 201lbs,only 21 lbs more than me and he can bench 240,so honestly I wasn't sure where I measured up. He lifts about 2-3 times what I can and doesn't weigh much more than me...
I weigh a lot though,I weigh 180,so I've been carrying a lot of weight for a couple of years...
I'm short,5'.6½" , stocky built...
All my raw materials all come in 80 lb sacks or more. My molds, the lightest is 40 lbs,the heaviest is 75lbs and I have to lift those myself most of the time.
The melting crusible is 75 lbs empty, pouring tongs about 25 lbs, when the crusible is full of molten bronze it's over 200 lbs , all together about 225 lbs including pouring tongs, my husband and I pour it wearing 20 pound kevlar suits, covered head to toe.
I had to take a 2 year hiatus on my art when I hurt my back. I couldn't even lift a milk jug w/o pain, could barely walk. Took a few years to be able to lift molds and bags of plaster and concrete like this again.
I'm new to weight training... but I guess not ,to lifting weights... if that makes any sense.
