What are DRAG CURLS??

PBR

New member
thanks guys, new routine...have no idea what they are talking about with this one....

I've never heard of this exercise before, but it sounds like it would be a good bicep-developer. How come it isn't a common exercise? Has anyone ever used these?

Think of an upright high pull but using a palms out (palms facing away from you) curl grip. However you can only pull (drag) the bar up your body about as high as your nipples. Basically you drag or pull the bar up your torso as high as you can.

got it Dave thanks...gonna try the Smith-Machine on this also, to see if it is practical....

yeah theyre suppsed to be excellent, some big name bb trainer recommends them at his gym apparently (the name alludes me).

aren't these just curls with a reverse grip?

?

No, with these your elbows are kept behind you, instead of at your side. And as you lift, the bar stays in contact with your body, like you are "dragging" the bar upwards.

I've never done them, and the few times I have seen them done the people doing them lose their form due to excessive weight.

i dont think they are anything special. just a variation that, IMO, you cant go as heavy on, and rely on other muscles (rear delts).

Word up bro...... this seems to be the unfortunate case with most exercises........
