The fearless leader of America....ppffftt...one blimp on the radar screen and he's straight down the rabbit hole.

President Bush was rushed from the Oval Office to an underground bunker after a security alert on Wednesday.
The scare came when it was reported that an unidentified aircraft had entered restricted Washington airspace.

As White House security plans swung into action Vice-President Dick Cheney was also moved to a secure location.

But all of the effort proved needless when it later transpired that the supposed aircraft was in fact nothing more than a blip on a radar screen.

Helicopters were scrambled to investigate the incident, as White House staff were cleared out of the West Wing and tourists in the East Wing were evacuated to a park across the road from the residence.

Armed secret service agents took up positions all around the building's perimeter.

"There was a report or an indication that an aircraft had entered restricted airspace around the White House, and so there was some precautionary measures that were taken," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said.

The president remained in the bunker for a short time, until it became clear that there was in fact no aircraft.

It was the first time Mr Bush sought refuge in the bunker since night of the 11 September attacks in Washington and New York, more than three years ago, a White House spokesman said.

well the truth is, it would be extremely foolish to have something done to the president. huge impact not only here but worldwide.

Youre a moron, the person, any person that holds that office has duty to the country to avoid being injured or killed. The country needs a leader, just b/c you dont like Bush doesnt mean you should also become an idiot. Pick a valid argument to attack. This one is just plain idiocy, Im sure you must realize that. Even Perfectworld would be able to see how dumb your reasoning is.

Thanks! I hear what you're sayin but I think a countries figurehead should lead by example. Take Churchill for instance, he would have been first over the top if they'd let him. There isn't people like that around any more.

Churchill was more important in his role that he played, I think he was smart enough to know that, but if he were a common man Im sure you are correct. You dont know whats in the heart of GW Bush either though, I think he's a man guided by clear moral conviction, to a fault some would say with his religious beliefs and would die himself for those, he was a partier when he was younger but changed after he grew up, but just b/c you disagree with his politics doesnt mean that you can make such statements about the man and him following his duties. Thats just illogical reasoning.

you really have no clue what were talking about. but it does have something to do with the economy.

Try not to let your distaste towards Bush affect your intelligence here. You are clearly going to get ripped a new one here by anyone with any sense of intellect, but i'll do it nicely.

The President, and this I can guarantee, has NO SAY WHATSOEVER, when Secret Service swing by and tell him there's a possible emergency, and grab him to take him to another location.

Trust me, The President is not going to say:

"What is it? Something entered restricted airspace? Nah. I'll finish my dinner. Leave me alone".

Your observation is beyond ridiculous. You're better off with a post saying "I Hate Bush" and it would be more accurate.

Yeah, rip on him being a cheerleader back in college

The actions of a figurehead reflect on the people he represents. It's more the shockwaves that would be caused should he be knocked off rather than his actual role as a leader.
This guy is one of the most publiced men on the planet and not once yet have I seen a glimpse of personality.
