now she goes and tells me how shes working out etc to be prettier for me,dont that make a guy feel like a fucking stooge,im bitching about this petty shit when she really does want to please me

Don't worry about it. Women learn in grade 3 how to make a guy feel like a tool.
Just be sincerely appreciative about her efforts, without going overboard. Maybe she's testing you to see what kind of encouragement you give.
