Want to get shoulder injury looked at

I went too far down on dumbell presses and pushed too hard to get it from the rest position. I ended up hurting something in my left shoulder (rotator?), but anyway this was over 6 weeks ago and it still hurts to do any sort of benching movements. Not horrible pain, but it prevents me from doing anything except light weight. It doesn't seem to be getting better.

Should I go see a doctor and what kind of doctor would be best?

I went to the doctor with the same symtoms, he sent me to an orthopedist she then sent me to a physical therapist. The physical therapist had me lay off pressing for two weeks, but had me doing a bunch of exercises to work my rotator. After the workouts I iced for 20 minutes. After the two weeks I still had pain, but went back to light pressing and kept the rotator work and icing. I slowly worked the pressing movements back to full weight and had to ice due to pain for about 7 weeks or so. Pain is gone and I no longer have a problem with it. The physical therp said I should stay away from behind the head movements and up right rows becuase they may cause the injury to flair up again.
