walking or jogging ?

between the 2 which do you do and which do you think would be better to burn fat ?walking or jogging...i heard some people tell me to walk because you can keep your heart rate consistent and others say jog

I personally jog, but it doesn't really matter I guess, as long as you get to your target heart rate and stay there for the desired length of time, mate. If you can get to the desired bpm walking, then do it. I just personally can't within the time that I have.
Cheers,
KJ

Walking 1 h - 1h, 15 min is the best. I've got no doubt about that. Your body will burn best when you are working out around 45-50 % of max, and a fat walk is something like that. A slog job would also be good, but then you'll burn more muscles.

if walking is such good exercise, why does my mailman looklike the harmonica player from blues traveller?

because he drives

HEYA!

Could someone put my fears to rest about your "heart growing" while your on AAS because you jog ? I made a post about this and there was a lil debate but no definate answer. Somone wanna lemme know if its ok to jog while your on AAS ?? AND PLEASE.. only respond if you are SURE on this ..

hey! I have competed for the last two years, and have been very successful! I have dropped my bf% from 12% to under 4% in less than eight weeks for a show (that I won) and I never once ran over got my heart rate above 65% max...

A muscle mag. that I read is constantly talking about the affects of high intinsity training for burning fat. A Bro of mine gave me some old issues of that mag (Muscle Media) and it says "We've been told that low intensity aerobic exercise is the best method for ridding the body of excess fat." "The reason this low effort theory of aerobic exercise came about is a study showed low intensity exercise burns a greater percentage of calories from fat as apposed to carbs; however, when high intensity exercise is practiced, the research showed the percentage of fuel from carbs is increased, while the amount of fat utilized is greater than or equal to that burned during low intensity exercise." The article goes on to say that the amount of colories burned throughout the rest of the day is significantly greater ( with high intensity) because it raises your metabolic rate higher than walking or jogging, & also keeps it boosted for a longer time period. I thought i would give it a try and i've lost 3lbs in the last week. i'm assuming its mostly fat I havent been feeling tired or sluggish like i would if i were loosing muscle tissue. I'll give it about 3 more weeks and get my body fat% retested. Ive also got an eca stack im getting ready to start, hopefully that'll help accelerate my fat loss. Hope thats of some help Bro.

The mag recomends to methods of aerobic exercise, both being done in about 20 min. @ 3 times a week. If youd like more specifics on this article email me at [email protected] (EAT MY YZ) And I'll scan the article and send it to you.

SOLID SPINE After a good strech and warm up i have been getting on the tread mill.

1 min @ 60% of max sprint
1 min @ 70% of max sprint
1 min @ 80%
1 min @ 90%

Do that for 3 cycles ( 12 min.)
then do last cycle at
1 min @ 60%
1 min @70%
1 min @80%
1 min @ 90%
1 min @ 100%
then 1 min for cool down ( or whatever you feel a good cool down period is)
IT really kicks my tail if i push myself hard

any spontaneous movement wheather it be running etc tends to force the body into burning carbs instead of fat for energy what you should do is ride a bicycle at a moderate speed and than shift to an incline area such as a hill for at least an hour than return to a level ground in order to stabalize the heartrate do this 3-4 times /wk for at least an hour i know many guys who got their BF down this way im sure it would work for you too.

If you are going to walk, instead of any other more strenous type of cardio training (running, cross country skiing, swimming etc..), then use a treadmill for best results. This way you can put up the incline and not even notice it(just put it at 3 or 4%).
The treadmills at my gym go up to 15% incline and I can run at that, albeit not very fast but long if I choose, it all is individual. Your body will burn more calories if it thinks it is walking up a slight or hilly or both type of hills. You can , and should, also vary the speeds and length of these adjustments (called a fart lick in running) another advantage of a treadmill.
I would guess you can burn up to 40% more calories with a proper regiment of walking on the treadmill then walking around your block at the same speed! I would also throw in some running, a minute here and there if that's all you can do. If you can run more do it here and there, your muscle will not waste away! Cross training is the best as it has to many benefits to get into. Also do your cardio in the morning on a empty stomach or after your weight session, or both. I think we all know that.
