Why should your stance be wider? You're just about on the rack. And you're definitely not breaking parallel.
Regular squat meaning just wider than shoulder width and breaking parallel.
If my stance were wider I could spread my knees out more and use my hamstrings more as well. My rack is already wider than most squat racks and my shoes are size 16...so squatting in a normal rack is freaking difficult.
I am either AT depth or below it. Having very large hips and wearing black briefs/suit makes it darn near impossible to see the hip crease. If it would make you sleep better at night I can find a picture taken right at my knee level and you can see that I'm actually below.
I don't know what I can raw Olympic Squat...because of a couple things:
1) I don't care
2) It means nothing
3) I can't do them for more than a couple weeks without knee pain
4) They have zero carry over to any of my other lifts
I do front squat and I've done around 500 (or was it a hit with 540 and a miss with 550?) and about 5 years ago I did a full OLY squat with either 600 or 680. Even most Olympic Lifters don't squat HUGE numbers...because it has no carry over to their Olympic Lifts.
This Box Squat set me up for an 821 lb deadlift as well (3 days later)...just in case you are wondering if I'm just a smoke and mirror show
Just kidding man...I know what you mean. I'm too old and grey to really worry about it, I've been there, and I'm having fun now. I have no reason to lie to you big man. Seriously.
