I've never shot a Ruger, let me know how it goes.

Good Luck Frisky - be safe!
:)

Sure will! I've owned a S&W and that is what I really wanted but choices were limited. So it was either the Ruger or a brand I can't pronounce CV was the Initials.

They had a few 9mm, 380's and only one 45 left. I was seeking out a S&W 40.

Thanks Vel! Been so long since I've shot a gun.. Lots of practice needed.

You must have a small penis

I do, but its cute ;)

WTF... women and gun...

I have to say I haven't (and happily) fired a gun in almost 5 years, since we moved here and sold both of ours... In all honesty, having the peace of mind of KNOWING you don't need it is priceless

I would love to have that peace of mind right now.

Well, just make sure it's 100% reliable with the ammo (Federal hydrashock is good - but some will fit better than other) that you plan to use and try and shoot at least 500 round before you carry it. Also, practice at home reloading drill (with a empty weapon of course) oh and always rack it twice.

You might also want to consider a night site for home defense or if you are traveling.

(I'm not familiar with LA gun laws - what are they?)

Oh and try shooting 5-7 yards in a 6 inch circle and at 20 yards in a 25 inch circle.

I own three - and I shoot for fun (targets not gun matches - yet)
I have to tell you if someone were in my house I would kill them.

I've had someone poking around the house before but I had the idea to just take a picture if him instead. LOL Happened to be a very popular local petty theft crimminal.

I'm gonna go and get more ammo today and will look into that one. I practiced reloading last night over and over. ;)

Didn't think of the night site.. good idea.

I can carry the gun in my automobile, they consider it an extension of my home. It can be loaded too. I can't take it out of my car without a permit though.. thats something I will be working on shortly.

Ou.. that shooting sounds pretty challenging. ;) Gonna do that.. hopefully the range isn't packed with all the panic around here.

You are awesome

Ruger's are pretty smooth, my brother has one and it's nice. I still prefer my sigs though.

Right now I am managing 4" groups at 15yds.

Frisky- nice gun, just don't kill the cook ;)

Cheers,

Velvett and frisky are two women you do not wanna piss off....

...rumour has it that you die an instant death if you ever combine either of their names in a sentence that talks about fat....or else....

Here's my preventive R.I.P to all my to-be homies.

lol, mentos, the fresh maker!

I had a friend, years ago, who bought his wife a Beretta Minx for Christmas. She enjoyed shooting his guns so he thought he's start her on something small. Cute little thing, had a flip-up barrel. She didn't like using it 'cause she couldn't rack the slide. Her grip strength & the spring strength didn't match. He traded it in on a Government Model.
He also had a H&K P7 that I liked.
I'm working on getting my F.A.C.. I'd like to get into target shooting, & the way things are going with home invasions around here, I'd like to have something if I need it.
Plus, seeing what happened in N.O. doesn't give me a lot of faith in humanity, during an extreme crisis.

owned a ruger a long time ago, do not remember the model, but was a 45 cal. and it kicked like a mule. i now own a glock and several berettas

Some people get off on women & guns. I've seen ads, where you can buy videos of nude women firing an assortment of semiauto & auto firearms.

I like guns. I´m a fan of your second Amendment.

They´re not legal to carry here, but a permit to own them is not too hard to get.
Basically they have to be hunting weapons so all sorts of single shot rifles and without exploding heads. Still in all sorts of calibers though. Handguns are a no-no.

Shooting range membership is no big deal. It´s just not very mainstream. Few have guns.

Back from the Range!

;)

KICK ASS!

Shot both the S&W 40 and my Ruger 45 and I handle the Ruger alot better. The 40 is lighter and smaller but had a dual action trigger and its a little harder to pull.

The gun did have a lil kick to it but nothing to throw me out of my stance.

I'll be hitting the range again hopefully during the week

VEL!!!!!!!!!!!! Great gun. Loud but damn that baby is powerful.

I just bought a Springfield 40cal 3 inch.

Small and deadly.

If I knew what mail service was going to be like, I'd ship you a Hornet's Nest Sting Grenade. 60 rubber balls that explode from the main container and hurt like a mother. Anything with 25 feet gets wracked.

I was shooting hollow point.. its all they had when i bought my gun. I have to go and get some others to target practice with. Those damn things were expensive.
