Vegetarian Diet

Hi I just got into fitness training. Im trying to build more muscle but everyone I keep meeting keeps telling me that its not going to work with my current diet. Since Im a vegetarian. I was a vegan but I recently started incorporating eggs into my diet. I was just wondering if you all think its possible or do I just need to take more supplements if Im not going to eat meat.

I only eat fish, no land animals or birds or eggs. So I am kind of in your situation. I eat the following

M1 - plain yogurt with protein and 1/4 cup oatmeal, with almonds

M2 - pro shake with H20 and orange and 6 almonds

M3- cup of skim milk, salad with small amount of part skim cheese (3 grams of fat and 5 pro), and 1 tablespoon hulled hemp seed (high in Omega 3s and 5 grams of pro) - all dairy is organic

M4 - (after weight) haddock fillet poached and 1/2 a small sweet potato

M5 - sauteed tofu and veg.

It is harder to eat the way you need to to shed fat as a veg, but you can do it.

As a vegetarian, it will be harder ti get enough protein in your diet. However it is still necessary.

Try other protein sources such as: beans, TVP, seitan, veggie products like Boca & Morningstar Farms, quinoa, protein powders.

I used to be a vegetarian, but had to give it up as I wasn't getting enough protein to meet my goals.
