Vascularity Question

Yesterday I noticed for the first time some veins on my forearms and biceps after working them. The thing that I find strange is that they were dark in color, kinda bluish. Does this mean that I'm not getting enough oxygen or blood into my muscles?

This is probably pretty simple, but I did a search and I couldn't really find anything on this.

On another note, I've been lurking here a while but I don't post too much. Thanks everyone for all the good info. I've learned alot!!

deoxygenated blood is actually deep red almost violet. when oxygen is bound to hemoglobin it turns to a bright red. venous blood is not absent of oxygen. if you ever see blood drawn into a vacuum tube (no air) its deep red.

the blue/red thing is skewed because of the systemic diagrams of blood flow (for aortic and venous bloodflow). its a perpetuated myth.

Excellent post bignate. Love to see the proper information make it's way to the surface for all to learn from.

:spin:
