US Navy Investigates Kerry's Medals

Nope, the Kerry team made his medals an issue early on to stop the Bush claims of "He's weak on defense spending".

Actually, I believe his medals and what he did with them were initially made into an issue by the GOP and all this shit snowballed from there.........

As i've said before..If Kerry's medals are suspect so are millions of other military awards.

Too bad the Repubs dont want to argue about any other real issues.

Um, the Repubs ARE the ones arguing about real issues. It's Kerry who brings up all this vietnam bullshit.

If the worst you can dig up is whether or not he earned 2 of the 5 medals I think your campaign has problems.....draft dodging SOB.

I think your campaign has even worse problems when you're 6 weeks away from election day and still haven't produced a defined platform.

I don't really see how any of this is relevant unless you're going to go back and investigate every medal ever given. Do people really think he wanted to stockpile medals in case he ran for president one day? because apparently it wasn't an issue til he did. I still have more respect for a guy who graduates from Yale then CHOOSES to go Vietnam than a guy who, by most accounts, joined the National Guard to get out of going.
Kerry initially tried for a deferment himself, when he wasn't successful he volunteered for the Navy to avoid getting drafted into the Army. That we know. What's speculated is that he choose the swift boats because at the time they weren't involved in combat ops.

Republican funded, carefully crafted confusion.

i just dont think we need to show favoritism to these young men by obviously pointing out who is better. what about the soildiers that dont get any medals, it lowers thier self-esteem. they should give group medals or team medals. then there would be no confusion.

Or how about we abandon the pathetic smear campaign and discuss pertinent things like the economy or healthcare? Wouldn't that be a novel concept! (not ragging on you dude)

I can already hear the response......'Kerry started it'. I say bullshit but I also say who cares. Republicans want to keep pouring their time and money into this Vietnam crap, have at it. I hope Americans are smarter than that.
