Two Simple Questions For Anyone With Even Relative Knowledge of Weight-Loss

hey guys,

A little bit about me right now, I'm 18 years old, about 5'11 and weigh around 250 lbs. I'm trying to lose approximately 80 pounds and with school, a job, and other things going on I'm going to try my best. And despite it being the worst season (winter) I'm not going to procrastinate anymore and I need help with two things.

1) In terms of working out, I pretty much know what I'm going to do. I'm going to do a lot of cardio (meaning a lot of running) and I'm going to push myself everyday, even if it's running in the snow. The question I have may sound sort of weird but through my accumulated weight I've managed to get a very round face, I guess it's typical of overweight people, but my question is how much fat on my face would be gone...will ANY of it stay?

I was born with a somewhat lean face, I could see it in my pictures as a kid, is it possible to get that back? Are there any exercises that could help burn that fat of the body off as it burns the fat everywhere else...is running the answer?

and my second question

2) I'm sort of sick of the diet fads and the confusing things regarding carbs, calories, fats. I'm also not the kind of person that's able to prepare my own meals, cooking them in certain oils, etc...I feel it's too much of a hassel.

And maybe someone here could help me, but I'm sort of looking for the 101 on what to eat and how much? I'm going to make a trip to the grocery store, help me out...what should I buy? What could I eat without gaining all the weight?

I mean, I know healthy foods like fruits and vegetables are good...but I can't just eat them all day, wouldn't that be unhealthy too? What kind of stuff should I look for when I buy? Should it be oatmeal for breakfast everyday or am I taking it too far?

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate all the replies

The answers to these questions are not simple. There needs to be a detailed look at your exercise program, nutrition, body composition, general health, attitude etc. In general terms fat loss is not selective. You will loose fat from your face but no particular program of weight loss will do this its just a reduction of BF overall. Its not just cardio that you need. You must include resistance training in your exercise plan. You can control & monitor your cardio better at the gym on a treadmill or crosstrainer. In general you need to work out at 70% of your MHR to get optimum BF burn. It is best to keep a record of your daily calorie intake. Then you can monitor calories in vs calories burnt. There are lots of people here better qualified than me who may offer advise.

first of all im not a professional bro but i would say this...

1) out of experience when i was doing a ton of cardio the last place to lose fat was my face and love handles. i always had a naturally great body just a fat face and discusting love handles. but after time and dedication they slowly disappeared.

but like i said im not a pro but most likely one will get a glimpse of this thread and help you out.

hey guys,

O-k..For one i think you can ecpect the face to go quicker than the belly area, i know you might want me to be more specific but i cant, i dont know you. However you said in pics you face use to be thin..so i wood look forward to that.
the second question is about food, somthing that i have become a expert on from listening to ( TAT, and INGRAM ) I have used this knowlage on myself and i can not beleive the outcome...I love it now, yes somtimes i get sick of it..but damn i feel good..I am trying to get Bigger myself, i dont like the term bodybuilder because i watch Jay cutler videos and it puts me in my place, anyway back to my food that has changed my body completely...
i never eat fast food, of go out but once a month to a resterrant, but i do have a cheat day..and i even limit that..i dont eat two snickers, just one,lol..and i usally will have pizza and wings for the family,my kids love it..The other 6 days a week i eat this.
Wake up- one cup coffee, oatmeal w/equal,one egg .
Before gym @ 10:00 am-weight gain/protein shake= 950 cal..( not for you)
Lunch- boneless chicken breast, no skin, no salt, pan cooked in a lil olive oil, and dry spices or garlic & onions, Sweet potato/broccali.
Snack- hand full of almonds/unsalted
Dinner-lean beef/prk/or chicken w/ brown rice/ green veg.......
NO more carbs after 5:00 pm
8:00pm- 6oz pink salmon in water....PROTEIN IN A CAN !

Now these are all good carbs/good fats/ and protiens, your amounts will very for what you are trying to acomplish...if you are now taking in 2500 cals a day, and staying the same weight, you need to bring it down 500 or so cals i think..but im not an expert on cal intake for your body....But i do know that i changed my look w/ eating twice as many clean cals than the amount i was eating before..that tells you somthing about nutritios foods !

Whole wheat pasta,brown rice,sweet potato,oatmeal, ect.......
stay away from starchy white carbs and sugars ! NO GOOD BRO !
Fish fats/nut fat/olive oil Are the BOMB..NO veg oil ect..or fried shit ! No TRANS, easy on the saturated, make it minimial ! Do cardio, treadmill/jumprope...mix it up so you dont get board..its winter..get some cross country ski's, LOL....and a MP3 playa !.. Keep goin bro, dont give up !
