Just curious as to what the cheapest form of buying turkey and chicken are? Whole, precut and bagged, or lunch meat style? I dont make a lot of money so im trying to conserve a bit.
Get chicken leg quarters, bone and trim the leg quarters and bake the meat, drain off all the fat. Lots of work involved in it, but if you buy 10lbs of leg quarters for $3.00 on sale, you can get about 4-4.5lbs of decent meat out of it.
ya definately just get like thighs or legs like this guy said once you get into that boneless its crazy expensive and it aint as good trust me stick with the bone.
hey all, im a butcher. the cheepest way would be to buy a load of turkey drumsticks. as they are cheap and alot of butchers have to throw them out. the only problem is they take ages to bone out beacause they have loads of lenghts of cartlidge running up them. i found that if u skin them then boil them till the meat drops off then you can do loads with the meat.
if anyone has any other meat questions just ask me. if i dont know the answer i sure as hell will find out 4 you .
