tricep growth ?

What do you all do ? this is what I do.

I used to train my tri's 2x a week, but I heard training tri's only once a week is optimal for growth.

What I am currenly doing for 4 weeks, then I will change sets, reps, etc.

I do:

close-grip bench press---7 sets-10 reps---40 lbs
skullcrushers ---7 sets-10 reps---35 lbs
OH triceps extensions ---7 sets-10 reps---35 lbs
pulldowns or kickbacks---5 sets-10 reps---25-30 lbs

I just did my tri's yesterday, they are so damn sore. hopfully that's a good thing.


Is this an alright routine to follow for the next 3 weeks ?

That is A LOT of sets! You are doing 26 sets for triceps alone! IMO, that is about 20 too many!

I usually do 3 sets for each exercise, 2-3 exercises per body part. I can kill triceps alone in 15 minutes.

I bet if you drop the number of sets you can increase the weight and hit them harder with the INTENSITY, instead of the sheer amount of sets.

I like doing: dips, skullcrushers, and pulldowns

Hi Daisy. No I think you misunderstood me. I do 7 sets total for all the exercises. not 7 sets for each exercise, I think that would kill me !! LOL

Double your intensity and cut the sets inhalf....you can train LONG or INTENSELY...but not BOTH

you should edit your post as that is NOT what you typed:




do:

to make me sore as hell the next day...

skullcrushers- 3 sets of 8-12 reps, 35-45 lbs.

superset
overhead db extension- 3 sets of 8, 30 lbs.
close grip push ups- 3 sets of 10-12

cable pull downs- 3 sets of 8-12 reps, 60-70 lbs.

bodyweight dips- 3 sets of 8
