I don't see how. . . .if you are dehydrated and taking more water out of the system. . .how can you possibly feel better?

Plus, there is still a degree of alcohol floating in the system that still has an impact on the nervous system, which can cause lack of balance and coordination. You also run the risk of blacking out, which poses as a dangerous situation.

Personally, I would rather train at 100 percent when the body is 100 percent healthy. The body is already under immense stress because it is trying to recover from poison that has entered and polluted the system.

poison??? uh no.. actually it was tequilla :)

anyway- if I start drinking alot of water now...I would be hydrated in the afternoon??? or skip lifting & go for a run... but I think heavy lifting is def out!

well, sweating for one thing I am guessing helps rid your body of some of the toxins....still in your system....

a lot of guys I know who worked construction would go to work in 100 degree weather and sweat it out, feel better by lunch time...

lifting/exercising also stimulates natural endorphin release....

If I was severly hung over.....forget it...but being moderately hung over, I will often try to get my ass to the gym.

Hell YES!

but I would advise medium intensity cardio, nothing high-impact.
Just slowly work your way up to a sweat, WHILE drinking gallons and gallons of isotonic beverages. Toxins out, fluids in. hang, over!

If one is so concerned about training and performace that one is worried about whether or not it's safe to workout, then one wouldn't have gotten smashed the night before an important workout, if ever.

Just my very judgemental .02.

ouch!!! thanks MOM...LOL!! blame it on the Ducks

I just don't like to see anyone getting hurt. If you want to party, party. You have to live a little. Just plan your workouts around it. Things don't get processed and recovered the same, your immune system's not the same, when you're drunk/hungover. Just be careful. :)

Did you at least drink it straight, or did you have to be a pansy and use salt and a lemon?? Seriously, don't do any Olympic Lifting, if anything just some cardio to break a sweat, anything too serious would be a waste, you'll get nothing out of it.

I hear that!!! Feel the same way...working out makes me feel A LOT better. I don't go in there thinking I am going to break PRs, I just think of it as more of an active recovery from the previous night...

ah.......... me and tequilla........... we have a good relationship. but she never bothers me when i have to train the next day. now, after a workout, and after a butt load of food........

We Dance Together!!!!!!!!!!:elephant: :elephant:

I can't imagine being hungover and attempting to squat over 400lbs or perform partial deadlifts with 600lbs. Theres no way on gods green earth that I would train.

I had a friend who drank several nights a week...and I mean got drunk several nights a week. They at junk food, smoked, partied, and didn't get the sleep that they should be getting...

...and...

They still complained to everyone that they just couldn't lose weight. Drove me nuts...

Get several jugs of Pedialyte and drink them today. If I ever drink very much during a day/evening I always finish it up by drinking a liter of padialyte before going to bed and it seems to help a lot.

I would advise cardio and nothing else....go for a 5 mile run, and the pedialyte thing does work, gatorade does ok too with a couple of salt tabs. I used to go surfing for a couple hours to get rid of my hangovers in high school, good cardio plus it helps me sleep which is the ultimate cure....lol......go ducks!

IL-- waves at Surfrider are 1 ft...waters 65degrees... theres no way Im surfing that today... LOL!!

went for a run-- feel better-- didnt puke!

Pedialyte and water, then a cup of coffee to wake your sleepy head up, trust me.

your body is trying to recover and your wearing it down by training, if you train heavy at all. Let it rest and don't get trashed the night before you lift.

I've deadlifted hungover a few times. It's hard, but afterwards your hangover will be gone. Drink lots of water before hand though.
