make sure you have at least 2 full rest days per week..
some things to try is doing intervals via sprinting for cardio..
id weight train 3-4x probably using higher reps
all of those will help with your endurance and should effect speed.. i would imagine your coach does various drills that influence your speed as well..perhaps talk to him about other things you can do
