too much milk?

12 gramas of sugar (lactose is a sugar) in every serving (8 oz). I wouldn't drink anywhere near a gallon a day given that sugar level, whole milk or skim!

There is new research that suggest that individuals who have had milk throughout their lives are leaner then those who didnt. The researchers were trying to establish that is due to the high calcium intake. But it is probably due to the fact that milk is high in CLA.

Personally (and I may be in the minority here), I think milk is some nasty shit. It's higher in sodium than most people realize.

Some people like milk, others bash it. Fact remains that a LOT and I mean a LOT of athletes of all kinds used and use milk to gain quality lbs of lean body mass or to bulk up.

It's cheap, it has lots of protein in it and lots of vitamins and minerals. Lactose is a sugar indeed but after digestion even the most complex carbs become simple sugars.

I say, if you can digest it and like it, drink it ! The benefits outweigh the disadvantages if you ask me.

I don't understand why people drink milk. Humans are the only animals that drink the milk of another species. Not only that, we drink it into our adult lives. Nowhere else in nature do these two things occur naturally. It's just not normal. I love milk, I love the way it tastes, but it hurts my stomach and makes me bloated and fat. So I don't drink it.

any thoughts on the anti-biotics used in cows and the effect of drinking lots of milk?

I think the amounts of antibiotics and hormones in meat and milk are at such a low level they are insignificant. I would rather the cattle industry use the hormones, the hormones produce lean muscle which results in leaner meat. The antibiotics are given to eliminate the passing on of disease. The Vegetarians and animal right zelots use this to convert otherwise healthy thinking people against eating meat\slaughtering our delicious animals. :chomp:
