Spatts and CasualBB some squats from a side view, although these have bands, but next week I'll do some normal heavier sets as well for ya.

HighBar BoxSquats with bands - these were really tough after the above. I think I had too much bar weight.

Hey it will get up there one day. This time last year I was squatting 135-175lbs or so for sets of 5, and they were tough!! :)

You will get there. Just keep plugging away, adjusting when necessary, and keeping any changes in format simple enough to know what actions caused what effects.

:)

looking good man...i would think though that when your heels are coming off the ground it must be too easy for you. I wonder if more weight would be more challenging, effective...

do you ever squat with more of a powerlifting stance? I tell ya, once I got myself used to the lower bar position and stance, my squats went WAY up for me. 470 to 555 in 6 months maybe? Might not fit in with your goals though

I'm deliberately going up on my toes. This also helps a bit, because the bar does come off my back by a good 3inches, so getting up on my toes not only gets the calves involved, but stops the bar crashing down on me :)

The weight is quite heavy at the bottom. Perhaps I should use green bands, but that would mean less bar weight.

Anyway it was pretty tough the sets I did with 195 and 205lbs. The boxed squats were hard as hell!

No I have never squatted in a powerlifter style. Yes I know you can lift way more, because of the reduced ROM and better leverage, but I need narrow stanced leg power, it's just more specfic for my needs. But I may try them in future for a differnet kind of loading.

Still my goal is to squat 585lbs in my current oly style one day :)
