Thoughts on machines to avoid

Which machines at the gym should you be avoiding if you want to be a bodybuilder?
are there any that are really counterproductive to building muscle and getting leaner
Also would you recommend I follow what other bodybuilders are doing or should I come up with my own weight training program

That depends on you, your needs and any issues you might have.

the smith machine is one i recommend you avoid.

also if you are overweight using the ab machine is a waste of time. need to lose the fat first

I 100% agree on the smith machine. It will force your body into a completely unnatural movement.
