Thought I had a heart attack.

Hey guys,

Just got back from a 2 day stay in the hospital. I was working out in the gym on Tuesday night doing some seated dumbell curls. I got up after my second set and my heart started beating really fast and hard. I have had these kind of heart palpitations before but this time it was more intense. I felt dizzy and was sure I was about to pass out. I asked this girl in the gym to watch me and call 911 if i passed out. After about 3 or 4 minutes of walking and trying to catch my breath my heart rate started to drop back down. I called my girlfriend, she's a nurse, at home and told her what had happened. She knew i was 6 weeks into my first cycle so we were both little concerned. i decided to drive home and was feeling Ok but then it started again at the house. Since I was home alone I decided to call 911 because I didn't want to pass out at home when nobody was there. I should mention that my father died at age 41 from a massive heart attack so I am always very concerned about my heart health.

I had my heart and lipids checked before I started my cycle and everything looked good so I wasn't realy too worried about doing a light cycle. My cycle was a tren only cycle at 50 mg/day. My suppliments were vitex, saw palmetto, ala, cranberry extract, folic acid, fish oil, flax oil, mutivitamin, and melatonin. I got through the first six weeks of my cycle with only small side effects (back pumps, night sweats, acne, itching). I gained 24 lbs in 6 weeks and even dropped some bodyfat but this heart scare was enough for me to say goodbye to gear forever.

The results of my hospital testing showed no signs of a heart attack although I had an irregular EKG (inversions?). I had an ultrasound that showed no damage to the heart walls. They injected me with some radioactive isotope to check for blockages and I haven't gotten the results back from that test yet, but I did very well on the stress test. My bloodwork showed elevated CPK which can be a sign of heart attack but in my case it was due to skeletal muscle breakdown. I was also told my liver enzmes were 3x the normal range and my HDL was 14 (should be above 40)! So much for the ALA protecting my liver and the fish and flax oil protecting my cholesterol.

Anyhow to make a long story short this episode scared the shit out of me. It took them over 12 hours to get my heart rate and BP down once they got me to the hospital. I took 2 nitoglycerine tablets and they put a NG patch on my chest. I was given medication 4 times for my high BP which peaked at 190/105, my heart rate peaked at 170 bpm.

Like I said before I had this problem a couple times before this year (pre-cycle) but it didn't alarm me so much, as my heart rate would always come down after 3 or 4 minutes. I have also noticed that each time this has happened I was going from a squatting or seated position to a standing position. It would then feel like my heart skipped a beat and would then accelerate to try and catch up or something.

So I feel lucky that I didn't have a heart attack but I am still very worried as I do not know what is causing these palpitations, and as I do not take caffiene or ephedrine i am stumped. My cardiologist said i may have an electrical problem with my heart. He says this can be very dangerous. He knows I was on tren and is not blaming the palpitations on the steriods but is blaming the bad bloodwork and feels the steriods probably ampified the BP rise. Of course I got lectured quite a bit on the dangers of steriods.

I have decided to stop my cycle immediately and start chlomid on Friday. I was also wondering if I should worry about chlomid causing palpitations or high BP. What do you guys think? Anybody else experience anything like this while on gear. All advise and help is appreciated.

Glad to be alive

how were your blood electrolytes? that could be the reason for the palps. do a search on the internet for Coenzyme Q10 and read about it. maybe it's worth your investment

Sorry to hear that bro.

Hope everything goes well.

I have high bp as well. Yesterday my nurse took my bp and it was 190 over 110. Needless to say she freaked out. I also have heart palpitations. They are very troublesome when I am working out.

I am not sure on the electrolytes. I will be going back next week to get all my medical records and take them to a second cardioligst for a second opinion. I should be able to get my exact numbers next week.

I think you need to take questions to your doctor bro, not that we can't answer them but if you are having heart problems then I sure don't want to give you an answer saying "sure you'll be fine" and you end up dying. Be smart bro, talk to your doctor.

I did ask my cardiologist about the chlomid and she did not seem to be aware of what it is or what it is used for. She just gave me a general answer that I should stop taking anything. Thing is, i would like to keep the gains I made, but I am not wanting to go through any more heart episodes. I guess I just need to find out what kind of side effects chlomid can cause.

I think you will be ok taking clomid after reading up on the sides but i'm no expert on heart
and dont know what other meds your on or your med history.
