Yup... he was using a pretty standard union tactic. You basically call anyone who wants to bargain for their own wages and working conditions personally a "management lackey".

God forbid someone demonstrate their worth in the market and be directly compensated for it.

ya'll have been brainwashed by Bush & co and fox news network.

Um, Yeah. I'm not in a union and get all those things. There is no laws in my state mandating 15 minute breaks or 'liveable straight time hourly wages' (lol minimum wage is liveable?)

Paid vacation, sick leave - management decides to grant these fringe benefits, they don't have to, yet I get them. I'm not in a union, according to your logic I must work for the best employer in the world
enjoy your benefits while they last...20 years from now, whem most of the peeps here are in their 40's and 50's, struggling to provide for their families on greatly reduced, management set wages you will be screaming that the unions didn't protect you....

No, just spewed-forth like a realist who recognizes what is happening in both America and the world at large.

I guess it would be easier to blame the Chinese, the President, the religious right, or big corporations but the harsh reality is that big-government, socialist thinking has crippled American competitiveness and is destroying our middle class at a record rate.
what has destroyed the hard working, producing middle class of this country is MANAGEMENT shiipping off what used to be American jobs to third world/pacific rim countries that pay pitifully small wages and who make their employees work in the same sweat shop conditions Americans did in the 1920's.....BOTH items that were ended in theis country by organized labor. there IS safety in numbers!!!

Yeah, unions have done such a great job here protecting the American worker.

Here's an idea! Let's organize the pacific rim countries too so they can be as bloated and ineffective as union labor here in the US! Sad thing is, I'm sure some people are for that but the flaw in the logic is that as the third world got "fatter", the existing union labor in the US would demand to get proportionately fatter as well so the jobs would STILL end-up over there. But on a positive note, Americans could then pay more for the pac rim goods they import from there thus making an already strained US paycheck even less effective.

Hey! That sounds like a plan! Let's try it an watch what happens!
