The right footwear

Unlike wimmins, the old saying "The more the cushion, the better the pushin'" does not apply to weightlifting shoes.

barefoot for squats and deadlift or anything lower body, any shoe for the other stuff

I'm not going to knock barefoot training. I've DLed and squatted barefoot in the past. I currently do my bulgerian split squats barefoot.

I could not imagine walking 500+ pounds out of the rack without shoes. Something to consider for safety when the weights start to get heavy :)

I see guys squatting in Nike shox and airmax all the time. I cringe watching their heels colapse under the weight.

oly's ever since I started using them they have only been beneficial to my form on squats and deads I also feel like they help my bench by being able to drive through my heels and keep the arch in my back also on ohp they help keep my balance Oly's FTW!

I now wear my chucks on ohp day. I pressed in trainers last week and lost my balance backwards while lowering the bar. Luckily it was a warm up set with 135. If it was a limit set I could have jacked my back up big time. Solid soles are very important.

interesting I lose my balance all the time when overhead pressing. Maybe I should get some flat soled shoes....I've pressed barefoot before but usually use my cushy running shoes (which is a whole number of problems......running shoes are one of the biggest crocks of shit ever haha)
