The Official How-To Burn/Backup Your DVD's

p0ink said:
bigman, use the AnyDVD and CloneDVD combo to see if it fixes the problem on your son's existing dvd player.

if that doesn't, i suggest burning the disc at a slower speed. that will fix the problem 90% of the time (so long as you are using a DVD-R)

i used the slysoft for a while but it doesnt work with all dvd's. between me and my father in law we havent come across any dvds that wouldnt burn due to copyright or "bad segments" with dvdfab. but i still have the slysoft on my computer. i have ALL the slysoft products. i just hate waiting an hour with clone dvd just to have it say error bad segments. i have NO patience. but it is a great program for beginners i do agree cause it was the first one i used to burn dvd's.

that's really weird...i have never had ANY problems with slysoft, and i have backed up many, many dvd's. same goes for the countless other people i know who download their shit.

that's weird, though.

but yeah, try burning discs at a slower speed. they should work better on your son's dvd player.

nah, the bottom color of the media shouldn't make a difference. it has to be the speed you are burning at - it's simply too high for that particular dvd player.

like when i would burn cd's for my old car, i always had to burn them SUPER slow, otherwise the dinosaur of a cd-player i had would not read them. once burned at a slower speed, it was gravy.

I never liked the "CloneDVD" program, lots of pixalation(sp?) and costers even with burning it slowly.

Some people hate on "1clickdvdcopy" but I like it alot in combination with "anydvd".

I've been trying to fix my slow burn speed problem by making sure the dvd ide setting is set to DMA instead of PIO.

I tried the DVDFAB plat once but it was a little weird acting(I guess since it was a cracked program) I need to try it again.

I just use the program that came with my computer Power2Go. Seems pretty simple. Are these other programs any better?

I am using the internal dvdrw in my sony viao. I think it is like a 1x or 2x. I also had a stack of DVD+Rs. I backed up super troopers last night. Worked fine on my laptop's DVD player and my playstation 2. Thanks poink!

any good programs to convert AVI's, MPEGS and WMV formats to DVD format?

I wanna burn a bunch of porn to DVD...I got like 60 gigs on my computer
