Deebs don't argue a point for the sake of debating. You know that Scotty in the series wasn't nearly as silly and overplayed as the portrayal in this movie.

Kirk goes from being a bar brawling farm boy to commanding the flagship of the fleet in 3 years.

He knows how to command the biggest, most sophisticated ship in the fleet, despite never even commanded a shuttle.

Kirk was awesome enough to finish the academy in three years, but so was everyone else that started when he did? (Including the mouth-breathing idiot from the bar)

Leonard Nimoy's dentures looked ridiculous.

sounds like your a little too into star trek to like this movie. Your criticizing how realistic the fantasy world of star trek is? really? who cares. Great cast, great script, great effects, great acting.

its a new movie, you cant expect everythign to line up to the way you envision the star trek world or how it was portrayed ni other movies. Personally, i went to see this sci-fi action movie with my ex, and we both loved it after never having seen star trek before. Try to think of this movie without having your own preconceptions

Your criticizing how realistic the fantasy world of star trek is?

Yes, it's fantasy, but an audience will only suspend disbelief as long as the *story* sticks to the parameters of the world order 'it's'(the film) set up. All films establish their own verisimilitude (hopefully as part of the exposition) and it's really the narrative's job to follow the physics of that particular world. I haven't seen this film so cannot say if RW's criticism has merit, but she's pretty so much can be forgiven.
