Tanning

mandy, thanks for the tips :)

the salon i go to looks pretty clean. i am a little paranoid about stuff like that so i bring disinffectant wipes with me and wipe the bed before i lie down just in case.

as for the tan lines... i find sometimes faint tan lines around the bikini area to be very suggestive and kinda sexy, but i guess that's just me :)

I agree millie - there was a girl in the gym the other day with tiny shorts on, and you could just see some little tan lines on her hips. It was quite sexy. But, then I see them on me, and don't find them as sexy.

Guess I like my fat tan, not white. :) lol

I won't wear anything but eye protection. When I was 16 I deemed it uncool to wear eye protection and now have permanent issues with light sensitivity. What a moron.

I LOVE tanning but whenever I'm in there (nude of course...no tan lines for me) I stress about how damaging it is. Last month I was exposing various bacterial cultures to UV light in intervals of 10-90 seconds. And everything over 60 seconds of exposure pretty much killed everything on the plate due to the UV mutating the bacteria's dna so much. That's not a happy thought when I'm in there now.

I have a string with a 2" patch of cloth that I wear as a bottom. Virtually no tan lines and it's comforting to think that I'm not completely naked in a public tanning bed. When I'm just laying out in the backyard... full on nude. :) I love living in the sticks.

I try not to preach, but ladies, please go light on the tanning. I wound up with a pre-cancerous mole and it was in a spot that only got tan when I was in the tanning salon. I tanned for about 2 years, that's it. I am fair and have blue eyes, so that puts me in the more likely category for getting skin cancer, but just be careful girls. Now I have a little scar left as a reminder and next week I have to go in for a re-check as I have another suspicious mole.

And that puddles, scares the hell out of me. Plus I look at my grandma who is in her early 70's and looks SO much younger than all of her much younger sun-goddess sisters. They look like leather and she looks beatiful. Lately I've been sticking to bronzing powder. :)
