T3 Question

I was wanting to get a "knowledgeable" opinion on using T3 for the first time. I do compete...and after last show gained to much weight in a bad rebound. I think my body is back to "normal" again, and Im ready to lean back down to a good weight above my competition weight. I need to drop 10 pounds, and my body is being a bit more stubborn after this show as far as losing weight. I am going to have a clean diet and workout, plus increase the cardio a bit. Btw..I have a normal thyroid and all that, so no problems with that, just wanting it for weight loss. Thoughts..

How long has it been post contest? When is the next contest? How far are you from your pre contest prep weight?

I am 3.5 months post contest. I am not planning another show until next year..maybe May 2011. I am around 20 pounds over my contest weight, and 10 pounds more than I was BEFORE I started training for the last show!!! Any suggestions??

I would hold off on the T3 to be honest wait tell your next contest prep maybe. I would suggest playing with your diet a bit changing macro ratio's etc. Speaking of diet what did you follow for your contest? What are you doing now? How much has your cardio changed? 3.5 months is a good amount of time but depening how much stress you put on your body over the course of the contest prep it could take a little longer then expected.

I think T3 should be a last choice fat loss option for most all women.

1)We never know who's thyroid will fail to resume it's own natural levels of production after T3 supplementation is discontinued. If that happens then T3 would become permanently mandatory not optional.

2)There's the issue of how catabolic it is. Burning through as much as 3 pounds of hard earned skeletal muscle for every 5 pounds of body fat it metabolizes? Wow...don't do me any favors.

It scares me when people talk about supplementing T3 as an option before something as simple as an ECA stack.. If I could go back now, I'd go Clen over thinking about T3.. My thyroid is shot, and I'm on it for good. I did use T3 once before as a quick fix, and combination with that other things has now put me into Hypothyroidism.. be careful...
