That sucks, I hope it gets better soon. take a nice hot bath and do something pretty for yourself (hair, nails) that always makes me feel a little better. take time for you!

:heart::heart::heart::heart:
Love ya', ck. Congrats on the 1-year and Plat, by the way, too. I did trim up my nails and fixed the brows a bit... but other than that, resting and sleeping 9 hours the last 3, 4 nights has been the thing to do for me to at least feel a LITTLE better.

Don't worry...that would be me!

Hope you feel better. Good luck on your test.
Man, I wish it was that easy that *I* would be the one taking the test -- but I had to be the proctor for those two damn days! Just driving me crazy, my students -- but those are now over, so reading and math are done... but MY subject (science) is Monday so I have two days to go of nonstop review and notes. Ugh -- frustrating but necessary. I'll sleep GREAT on the way to the Arnold Friday night!

And as for the Tubby Crown -- we can share it if needed. :D

++++ vibes all around, thank you.

Well that's why I wanted to come post -- I woke up this morning a TAD better than yesterday. Felt functional a little sooner in the morning but I was still tired. I didn't do cardio again today but I'm not feeling too bad about that.

Lots of big things to do at work today, teaching -- left work, went to turn in my taxes to be filed for FREE (Wahoo!) by a guy working for our teacher's association. So those will be done by next week -- easy enough and I should get a big return because I moved last year and have lots of work expenses from my old school that I left behind in MI.

I made it home EXHAUSTED and cranky. Ulter was going to go train and I just didn't want to go, had a headache, crab crab crab... so I changed into my gear, we went to eat dinner and headed to the gym.

Imagine that -- suddenly I was okay. I'm such a :nerd:. I was sniffling the whole time but I managed a good shoulder workout. It had been 10 days since my last one so I was definitely overdue.

Shoulders: Wednesday, February 28, 2007

Shoulder Press (Smith machine) (Goal: 3 sets x 35# x 10, NO ASSIST)
WU: 20# on bar x 12
1. 30# x 10
2. x 10
3. x 8.5 Maxed out -- too much weight/reps for WU

Upright Row (Goal: 25# x 12 reps x 3 sets)
1. 25# x 12
2. x 12
3. x 10 Maxed again -- Ulter watched and started giggling... he said "Those traps are huge -- look at those suckers!"

HS ISO-Lateral Shoulder Press (Goal: 30# ea arm x 3 sets of 10)
1. 30# each arm x 12
2. x 10 Maxed
3. 32.5# each arm x 8 Maxed but increased weight!

DB Rear Delt Row (Goal: 45# SDB x 3 sets of 10-12)
WU: 30# SDB x 12 each arm
1. 45# SDB x 12 each side
2. same as 1
3. x 10 each side :qt:

Incline DB Compound Press (Goal: 20# dbs x 3 sets of 12 from floor)
In case I never described this -- you lift these from the floor upward, into a straight shoulder press... then slowwwwwwly lower them reverse flye style to the floor again -- works front delts.
1. 20# dbs x 12
2. x 10
3. x 10

So in closing -- longest damn post ever -- I'm a litttttttle better but still dry throat and sniffly. I'm happy I got a lifting session in and I'm even happier that it didn't totally suck. I would have let myself down big time.

Planning to do some morning cardio, but we'll play it by ear. Thursday is crazy-Spanish-guy spinning class... not sure if I can handle it just yet but I could always go do something on my own.

And last -- cute story -- this morning Ulter sends me off to work saying, "WOW, you are sooo thin! You are so tiny, look at you, how small you are." Just hilarious because all I've done is bitch for 4 days about how huge my ass is. :D I'm  when sick -- he's awesome for putting up with my bullshit.

Night. :wavey:

So as for my own status...

Last cardio session: 1 week ago at Spin class

Last lifting session: Wednesday night, Shoulders... all my other lifts expire (10 days, no other session for that part) tomorrow

Sickness: Well I wish I could say I'm recovered but I'm not. I'm better today -- took the least amount of time today to get the juices flowing and feel normal, which is good, but still have a nonstop runny nose. Ugh. :(

I'm planning on doing cardio starting tomorrow morning again unless I wake up just feeling godawful still... and I'd like to lift tomorrow night too but that might wait til Tuesday so I can go with Ulter. Unsure yet but I like to go back to my regulard Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun schedule so I don't feel like I have to make-up everything and push super hard -- that's just stupid and won't help me get better.

I also cut my T3 in half because I've been taking 100 mics a day... and all that burn burn burn wasn't helping my body to focus on healing itself. I was sweating my ass off and not feeling any better -- Silly me. So halving it today and yesterday really has helped me out (at least I can sit still and not sweat so darn much!)

I'll post more later. :) Much love girls.

Hey u forgot to add Marshmallow land to your location ;)
Yes, I live in Marshmallow land and I sit all day in a cookie chair and wear a buttercream frosting hat.

*Breaks off cookie, dips in hat, eat... repeat!*

Then I fall into my sugar coma and dream of tall pieces of chocolate cake floating by me when I'm out to eat with friends.

Man, I'm so bad. :qt:

Still really sick. Waking up every 3 hours or so at night, coughing, crying, hacking my lung out basically. I don't feel better at all and it's just making me angrier and angrier. The last place I wanted to be was work today... and now even the THOUGHT of sleeping pisses me off because I know it's not working.

I keep packing my gym bag with the hope that I'll wake up feeling great -- but today I woke up at 7:40 and I leave for work at 8... so you can see that plan is working real well.

I'm starting to feel like a big slacker and I honest-to-goodness know right now my body is screaming at me to stop because I'm so damn sick. Ulter thinks I was improving last week and that going to the Arnold, exposing myself to the fatigue, the flight, all these germs, staying out til 2, 3am and then walking around in 30 degree weather just made me ill all over again.

I'm just angry now. So sick of being sick... I just want to be happy hippo again fighting over the squat rack and stairmill at the gym. :(

*WHINE* :(

+++++++++++++Vibes to get well soon!!

I'd give ya a hug but you're contagious!! :lmao:

Tcake, I am going to set you up this week with the training again. I have some good ideas.

What the hell? Did you go to the Doctor's? You shouldn't be sick this long. I hope ou start feeling better. I need you to come out here in a couple of months when school is done and work out with me and Ulter. Imagine a gym filled with joe, Monster, Mikey, Andy, me and you and Ulter? Talk about a laugh fest.

I'm sorry I didn't get to see you guys before you left. I hate this stupid weather too. Just think, It's 4 degrees here right now.

I will call you this weekend.

I hope you get better. It was good to see you and Ulter last weekend and it was nice to meet some of the ladies of this fine forum. I will try to drop in once in a while to see your progress.

Rest and get well.

WOW! Ok, let me start by saying THANK YOU to everyone above who left me love! You all are amazing, and it was extremely kind of you to pop in and wish me well.

I last posted on Monday and felt Godawful -- I got home from work that afternoon, took an hour to sleep and laid in bed all evening... slept 10 hours that night, skipped all workouts and exertion. I still felt like hell at dinner, but the next morning -- I only woke up ONCE during the night and I felt HUMAN again! :D

It was GREAT! :) I wasn't totally well yet but I was functioning, I was more clear-headed, and I was able to simply sit at work and be productive and SPEAK (my voice was on the outs all weekend and as a teacher that's BAD NEWS).

I'll post my workouts in my next post... but yes, I'm back in the gym, thank God! :qt:

You are the best, Chuckles. :) Thanks for doing that for me. Real excited to see what you come up with -- tore some awesome ideas for lifts out of Muscle & Fitness HERS magazine over the weekend and it includes stuff I already do along with some moves I know I'd love to try out. Really stoked to put it all together -- I'm so tired of my lifting routine! 10 weeks pre-surgery with it and now 9-weeks post-surgery of the SAME OLE SAME OLE... ugh -- I think my body needs the change. I'm ready to grow like mad. :D

Thanks, GG! :rose: You're so kind. :D I see so many heroes in here and I try so much to be just as inspiring as these girls -- it's hard to keep up!

I've got my own little fan club in my gym now -- the one guy keeps bringing me new friends and family members and saying, "Do you have your picture?" when I'm lifting. He's so kind, but he is trying so hard to inspire the people he loves. He glimpsed my before photo in my lift book a month ago -- so it's great that I can inspire SOME people to be better than they are.

And of course there's the random, "OMG, you're legs are HUGE! What do you do?" from various men AND women in the gym. It's good to be the "big" girl. :D

I'll post up cardio and lifts in a few. That's enough for this post!

Log for Wednesday, March 7, 2007

A.M. cardio:
6am, empty stomach
Cardio Circuit
20 minutes HIIT Precor elliptical
10 minutes steady-state max resistance rowing machine
10 minutes running, treadmill
10 minutes HIIT stairmill

TOTAL: 50 minutes Total ADD day with cardio...

Food:

B 9am:
1/2 c. ff egg substitute
3 slices fat free turkey
1 2% milk string cheese

L 1pm:
PB & J sandwich (2 slices whole grain bread, 2 T ANBP, 2 T Splenda-sweetened strawberry preserves/SF)
Dannon Light n' Fit mini yogurt cup (40 calorie size)
1 pouch Starkist Sweet & Spicy tuna fish
1 can (160 cals) Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup (Low sodium)

This totally held me over til dinner, no problems.

D 6pm @ Orlando Ale House:
Dinner salad (2 T cheese, 2 T croutons, 2 c. greens) w/ 2 T Italian dressing
1 slice garlic bread
1.5 c. fettucine noodles
35 grilled shrimp
1/2 c. marinara sauce

S 10pm:
15 cashews

TOTAL: ? :D I'm happy with it. I know at the end of lunch I was at 935 and 40/30/30 and my dinner long-ago was fitday approved, so I'm sure I'm fine. I don't worry too much if I'm off by 100 cals or so. That's what Sesapure and especially my T3 are for. Gotta  cutting cals... *sigh*

I just thought I'd amuse you all by posting my food for ONCE every six months! :lmao:

I lifted chest/back last night at the gym but don't my lifting book here at Ulter's with me. I'll post those lifts tomorrow when I post my lifts from tomorrow night. I'm way overdue for all my lifts, so whatever I manage to do tomorrow I'll be happy.

Speaking of tomorrow -- I normally do 545am spinning class on Thursdays... but I don't know if my body can handle THAT class just yet. I'll definitely go workout... but not sure if I can do his class because I'm still REAL sniffly and he'll give me a hard time. Don't want to get sick over again...

Night! :wavey:

Glad your feeling better!
Thanks, hun. :rose: to you

I got to bed too late last night and was up for cardio at 5:30am today... took my supps and was hobbling around, back hurting, trying to get ready but disgruntled. Ulter was like, "Go back to bed... you're not healed yet." So I slept a couple more hours and felt a lot better.

I really do need the sleep and though I felt bad for missing cardio... I have to repeatedly tell myself I'm not going as much lately because I'm trying to HEAL my body, not tax it more.

I did however make it to the gym tonight to lift biceps/triceps and I changed up a few things with this regiment too. I'll post those lifts tomorrow.

Best news of the day...
:arty: SPRING BREAK IS HERE!!! :arty:

Sooooo happy to be out of school for 10 glorious days. I need this break BAD.

Plan for the next week:
- Get the cardio back in daily now that I can sleep in first EASILY
- Maintain a normal sleep schedule (this is a bad habit for teachers -- give us some time off and we turn into night owls again... badddd)
- Eat well/clean which means I get to cook again, HOORAY!
- Maintain my lifting schedule of Sat/Sun/Tues/Thurs It is far too tempting to want to lift more frequently because I will have this free time off... but I cannot push myself like that -- heal, Cakers, HEAL!

All I got. Peace out. :wavey:

Heal baby. Your body needs it and if you don't, you will end up losing muscle and regressing in your fat loss. Don't forget, stress whether it be physical or mental increases cortisol levels...which eats muscle mass. Take it easy and do some light cardio...otherwise you will end up looking like me :qt:

:lmao: You're such a dope.

Did cardio today, folks:
20 minutes steady-state rowing, max resistance
Superset Abs (25 crunches, 20 leg drops, 30 sec rest, repeat x 3 sets)
40 minutes stairmill L7-L12

Total: 60 min. cardio

Other fun things from today:
1) brow wax :) Wahoo! :arty:
2) MY FIRST SET OF NAILS! Got a full set french manicure... OMG, struggling to type and text but I'm determined to be a girl at some point in my life.

Got lots of sleep last night so I'm better today but I've been plagued by a headache all afternoon. :whatever: I'll improve eventually I bet.

Post lifts later... I never seem to have that darn lift log around when I need it!

Edited the siggy and avatars -- fun times. :D

Love the new avi, although I do still associate you with fruit! :D

So glad you're feeling better :rose: and as everyone else has stressed, take it easy till you are completely well. If not, you'll just get sick again. Ultimately, it's all about training efficiently so your body responds, not overexerting it so it shuts down.

Dayum, girl, you do a LOT of cardio. I think I started sweating midway just reading your routines.

Thanks, doll! I miss talking to you tons! I wish you were around more!

Still adjusting to the nails tonight... they don't feel as weird as they did earlier but on the laptop it's a bit harder than at my desktop keyboard. Whatever. :whatever:

YES I do a lot of cardio. I was just talking to Bunz today about this, but my ultimate goal over the last year has been to shed fat and put major muscle on at the same time. With my diet and lifting and cardio routine... I've been handlig it! It's hard but something is working right.

Side note: Those who sent me karma compliments tonight, THANK YOU! I hope you like the avi b/c it's cute... but I hate to say it's NOT ME. :(

Give me a few months. :D Like... last week in May. :D Then it will be me... but with bigger boobs (who can object to that?!)

LOL, I know what you mean about the nails, I got them once and ended up cutting them off! I couldn't stand typing on the keyboard with them.

Ladies -- SUPER IMPORTANT -- I can't post as much on here. Ulter has been banned and I am very sad over it; curgeo was banned last night.

I don't know what's going on but it's all really suspicious to me and I'm watching what I say and where. I will miss you girls. MySpace me instead.

I'm seriously upset with this -- I was about to start a new log too. :( I'll find somewhere else to go.

I LOVE YOU ALL

Whoooooo on the nails!! You'll get used to the eventually - took me a little while but then I ended up liking them......I'm hoping to get some in about a month or so when the weather warms up & my fingers stop cracking....ouch!

LOL @ posting food once every 6 months! I saw that post & was like what the....??

These were hardddddd... :worried: My straps were cutting into my wrists because I have to hold on to that bar for so damn long. Ladies, I seriously have hand's smaller than a 11-year-olds... it's ridiculous! I don't know how I hold on to this shit in the gym... :D

how's your grip... over hand under hand? they also make some really sweet wraps that I use lately (after my surgery) and they are so much better than traditional wraps.

Ooh, link me to those straps if there is one! I just despise the thought of them cutting into my wrists again when I do DL!

My grip is overhand when I dead lift. Does it matter?

The hands thing is funny - I can almost palm a basketball...
I'm jealous, but not. :) My hands are reallllly small -- my student's hands are bigger and they're 11-14 years old! It's crazy! We got new dumbbells last week at the gym, "ergonomic" and my little hands STILL cannot wrap around them!

I was trying to do a bench bentover DB row with a 45# single dumbbell... it was SLIPPING out of my hand! I can do 50# easy... but I know I can't hold on to it! So what now -- put a strap on THOSE too? *sigh*
