swain...

You know. . .thats a real good question. . . I honestly don't know.

I know in 1999, I measured them at 17.25 inches. Now, I really don't take measurements. . I let the scale and the mirror do the talking.

To tell you the truth, I don't consider my arms a strong point. . my torso muscles (back, chest, and delts) have always out done my arms. I have relatively long limbs, so pressing movements have always been a challenge. I have to have really big upper arms to shift around the nasty stuff.

You might as well call me Mike Katz.

As far as the avatar, it might be the angle of the shot. . .this shot was taken from my webcam.

I hope this helps.

That's a kind of funny thing about Katz...

While I know that Waller (who, IMO, had nothing on Katz or Roger Walker), Robby, and some other guy had a big laugh about Katz's arms and calves, I thought they were full of it.

Next to Mike's delts, crazy pecs and back, yeah, his arms didn't exactly jump out at you, but they were still HUGE! His upper body was just big and thick all over.

I remember at 14 years old as a freshman in high school. . I was around 112lbs.

I boasted 11 inch arms. . We took measurements in gym class.

don't let swain fool you...his arms are the size of his head...and that is just INSANE

LOL. Like, over 100 lbs. ago ;) I started somewhere around there too, maybe 12" arms at 125 lbs./5'6".

My arms have grown and weight has almost doubled, but I haven't gotten any taller :( D'OH!

Seriously though LS, your arms are looking good these days, dude. What are you weighing? I've asked before but it got lost in the thread. I bet you're sporting at least 18.5" arms and weighing...hmm...228, just to hazard a guess.

Hey my man get a mutha fukin tape and measure em, there huge ...I say a sloid 22 inches

any one else

How do you guys measure you arms anyway? I got some measurements taken at the gym where I workout, and they had me hold my arm out, palm up, relaxed. Then I flexed for a sec so they could find my bicep peak. Then I relaxed again and they measured vertically where my bicep peak was.

However, that missed most of my tricep, since it's offset from my bicep when my arm is palm up and relaxed, kind of like this (excuse the bad ASCII art):
Code:
          ___
         / \
_______/ \____

__ __________ (My hand is out here)
    \ /
      \____/
Ok that looks like shit, but you know what I mean?

22"?

Swain is diesel, but 22" belong on someone well over 300 lbs.

But I agree...LS needs to measure them, and I still want to know what he weighs after all these buffets and hard-ass training :) It looks like he packed on a very nice amount of muscle to me.

Code:
                ___
               / \
_______/ \____

__ __________
    \ /
      \____/

Naw, that's a pretty good ascii drawing BL :)

I've always heard that you should measure the upper arm at right angles to the bone.

But the most important thing really isn't how you do it compared to others' "methods." The important thing is consistency; i.e., you measure it the same way that you always do, because you're really only able to compare your arm size to...well, your own arms.

Just be sure the tape is tight, and do it the same way each time. You'd be set :)
