kid problems.

not mine, mine are angels. not needto and angels, just angels.

anyway.

my neighbor called me last night and said she was in a bind- she had to work and "forgot" that there's no more school and she had nobody to watch her 10 year old until 10:30 in the morning, so could my boys keep an eye on him. i told her that they would most likely still be sleeping until that time and I knew they wouldn't be reliable to watch her son that early.

so she asked if my daughter could (she's 11, but light years more mature than he is).
I said ok, reluctantly. then i called her back and said to please make sure her 16 year old daughter knows to TAKE HIM HOME when she comes to get him at 10:30am and that even though SHE (a total sweetheart of a girl and very mature) was welcome anytime, i couldn't have the "kids" (meaning: her son) in my house when i'm not here. (just like the fact that she doesn't want him in her OWN house when she's not there, because he's a terror).

I come home today to find that he did leave with his sister at 10:30am, then came back with her from noon until 3pm. in that time, he ate cereal at my table and left the bowl there for the cat to lick and knock off the counter, spilled iced tea EVERYWHERE, and walked mud up the stairs (why he had to go upstairs, i don't know).

i know i have to call my neighbor and tell her again that i can not have her son over when i'm not here, but i'm annoyed and know i'm going to sound bitchy.

tell me what to say so i can rehearse it.

Hi Jane,
I just wanted to let you know that Suzie came to pick Timmy up this morning but for some reason, they returned from 12-3 in the afternoon and I had no idea they were going to be coming back to my house. Yeah, simply cant have children in my house without prior knowledge - especially since I wasn't even home - you fucking bitch. If this happens again, I'll knock them both upside the head. And you too Jane, for reproducing in the first place

How can she "forget" her son doesn't have school and leave him with an 11 year old. Ridiculous.

I would tell her that they came over uninvited after you told her to have him picked up by the morning. Say that he made a huge mess and you don't think your daughter is old enough to be babysitting him.

that's good. I'll use that.

what pissed me off is that I purposely called her back last night to tell her that I can't have her son in my house without me being here, but i'd make an exception for the hour and a half it would take her teen to get here. i said she should make SURE her daughter knew that she had to TAKE HIM HOME, even though i knew she'd want to hang out. she said, "oh of COURSE! no worries!" and then totally didn't listen to me. she had to have known where they were all afternoon- both kids have cell phones.

he carries my puppy around with one hand, chases the cats, and walks around the house eating food and helping himself. once, he left my fridge wide open and walked away.

no, of course not.
they are friends, so i think my neighbor assumed that they could "hang out" in the morning. that part was fine, other than him coming over hungry and helping himself to cereal, but not cleaning up (why would you send your kid to someone's house HUNGRY?).

I called her a few minutes ago and spoke to her daughter. I told her very nicely that I couldn't have her brother here when i'm not home. she said she understood and said they (he) gets really wild when no parent is around and was wild all day (at my house. thanks).

I still want to ask the mother what the fuck she was thinking after I told her specifically NOT to do what she did.

I don't blame you for being pissed. In the mood I'm in right now, I would probably just completely lose my cool with her. She seems to be one of those people who just takes advantage or is clueless.

Well, I'm dragging my hateful self back off to bed...lol.

well the other day while I was at work, lumberg took his mom on some errands since she cant drive right now (busted her elbow) and they left my 9 yr old at her house for 2 HOURS while they were gone!!!!!!! WTF!!! they said he really wanted to stay and watch Cartoon Network and he didnt want to run errands with them. again WTF>?>???? who makes the decisions? certainly NOT the 9 yr olds of the world. I thought lumberg was pulling my chain when he told me this only to find out that he was not kidding. I couldnt believe it. Then I had to offer some clarification - don't ever leave my 9 yr old at home like that again.

Call the child protection agency...

They are state employees and they have nothing better to do.

yikes... i can imagine how mad you must have been.
my daughter is 11 and she's fine alone- but girls mature SOOO much faster than boys at that age, and she's very bright to begin with, so not only does she enjoy being home alone, but she's dying to start babysitting. I often come home to find her sitting on the couch and reading or drawing, etc.

I spoke to my neighbor and she said she was livid when she found out her son was here after I had said that he couldn't. She told me she came here directly from work at 1:30 and her son told her that it was ok- that he got permission from either me or my husband.

of course, neither of us was HOME though, and he had actually lied about having permission, So i said in the future, she should just call my cell and I'll tell her for sure, although its not likely it will be ok with me if i'm not home.

I'm still super annoyed with her, but i feel better now that I resolved it and told her all that went on in my house with my 3 kids, my one son's friend (he's fine) AND her 2, all without any adults.

i know- but i also know thats not an issue with my daughter.
they weren't home alone, for one thing, and the 10 year old boy looks like he's... 7. he acts like it too.

i would rip his fucking arms off and toss him into a well, and then go ring the doorbell and when his mom opens the door punch her in the fucking chin

Off topic, but did your Niece finally leave?

she wasn't my niece (different relative) but yes. she went to her parents house and still hasn't found an apartment yet, as I expected would happen, being that she's barely looking and can't afford anything and expects a great apartment to come find her.

she loved it here (of course) but knew i was having other guests coming in june.

Wooah, my brain is confuselled. So you've gotten married recently or you've been married for a long time?
